And the rest of us are glad you aren't actually torpedoing this team.

Win - win!!
The firsts are seconds. Ristolainen has 4 seasons over 40 points already and is a menace to play against. Same for Foligno who is one of the best defensive forwards in the league also has 16 points in 23 games. The guy is hitting prime does more and cuts the cap hit $3,800,000 for 3 more years.
There’s a depth defenseman in there too.

You like seeing your Captain flattened and nobody does anything about it. That’s the way you roll. Not me

One of the best defensive forwards in the league? Not even close.

There's a difference between a guy simply playing a lot in his own end, and a guy being good at that role.

Foligno is fine as a depth piece but playing 18 minutes a night with just 15 points if 40 games because he gets hemmed in his own end all the time is not somebody I trade Nylander for.

I'll gladly have Brodie and Holl over Risto.

Nylander hasnt been so bad that we have come to the point where Nick Foligno plus some picks are enticing

Hes been a B+ this year and like JT needs to push it up a notch but overall is fine.

Hes unfortunate that is leafs fall in the 1st dubas/new GM would scape goat him and deal him due to his contract being the cheapest.

Hopefully he and leafs have a playoffs to remember and he stays here long-term

I still miss kessel, dont want to deal nylander for pennies and see him win a cup

Like hell he isn’t a top defensive forward. 16 points in 23 games this year too as he comes in to his own. Nylander is soft and he’s not that good in the playoffs is he. I’ll answer that for you, no he isn’t. 5 goals in 25 playoff games is pathetic. He withers when it’s grind time. Won’t ever hear that about Foligno.

After your trades nobody's going to bother flattening him, that's going to be an invisible line.

Risto is also one of the worst defensive D in the league lol, putting up 40 points playing 26 minutes with 5 of those on the PP isn't impressive, Hainsey broke 40 playing less. Hell, Polak's got an identical career high in ES points if memory serves.

You go right ahead and evaluate him as a sabre all you like. He’d fit like a glove on the leafs

LMAO.

Nylander 5 goals in 25 playoff games. Foligno has 9 in 51 playoff games. Nylander has a higher PPG in playoffs and if Foligno is coming into his prime now, where does thay put Nylander?

I doesn't matter if you prefer Foligno's style more, that is your right. But to say Foligno is an elite defensive forward coming into his prime is false

Touche. On a side note. I do agree with the Risto analysis.

Trading Nylander for Foligno is like drafting Virtanen over Nylander.

Wafflewhipper being Jim Benning would make so much sense! Yikes.
Nylander @$7,000,000 or Marcus Foligno @$3,100,000 was easy. Nylander didn’t fit and was alway the one being moved. Matthews/Marner/Tavares were going nowhere. Filled a need, saved some cap,got some goaltending depth. Maybe people should check the Goaltender out better too ha..

Marcus Folingo has 2 points in 9 career playoff games... (Which is an 18 point pace over 82 games). Made worse by the fact he's a 29 year old veteran.

Folingo isn't anywhere near as impactful as Nylander has been during the post season (whose scored at a 2nd line forward level during the playoffs so far).

Signing Nylander hasn't prevented Dubas from adding Muzzin, Brodie, Campbell, Spezza, Thornton, Kerfoot, Holl, and various others since December 2018.

His contract is a bargain, and there's no rhyme or reason to get actively worse by trading Nylander for the sake of the salary cap.

Nylander is worth 7 million but the 7 million spent on Nylander is not well spent money for a playoff cup contender. Nylander is not reliable and when Nylander doesnt show up, we have no second line.

Nylander is so frustrating to watch. He's very lackadaisical. Loves to stick check, passive, avoids checks and always the first one off on his line. If there was $7 mil. in cap space and it was a choice between Nylander and Hyman. Its a no brainer and Burkie would agree.
