Bunting Matthews Marner line should be set in stone, no reason to break it up.
If moving bunting down make the team better you do it. If three 11mill players on the same line cant dominate, i dont know what to say. Coaches in general are to afraid to mix. You should mix like crazy so you find the best formula for the whole team, not just the first line. Matthews with Marner might be a given, but the rest is not.

Let's not judge Nylander until the post season.

If MM and AM get shut down, we need his snipes.

Talk of trading him is for the offseason.

Let's be positive about the team we have.

Away from JT seem to work out better. But i would switch them, at least try a few games. "But u cant have a C on a third line" says who?. You can and you should IF it makes the team better. I dont know if thats the case, but if i was Keefe i would try.

plus lines two and thee are being increasingly used as 2A/2B anyways with JT/Willy split apart

Coming in peace. I see you're discussing the possibility of trading Nylander in the offseason. If so, any interest in a RW who has proven chemistry/success with Tavares? Josh Bailey has the same 2 years left until UFA, and his cap hit is almost $2 million less than Nylander. I'm not proposing a swap - separate deals (Isles trade Bailey to Leafs and Leafs trade Nylander to someone else). Any possibility? And the Isles need a LHD, something you seem to be flush with (assuming you re-sign Giordano).

Willy is not exactly popular with us Hab fans, but he sure would look good in our sweater!!!!!

The young punks in here calling others boomers will technically be a 'boomer' themselves one day (Individual over 55 years of age) our generation will probably label it another name in 20 or 30 years 100%. Such an overused word to give young guns self praise and a sense of self entitement. (Im 30 BTW)
Not that I'll be around when it happens but I'd like to be inside their head when they realize how dumb they used to be:nod:

Since Willy was put on the 3rd line he had a rough first game but has really stepped it up since, this William Nylander we're seeing is the 90+ points version, a guy who uses all his skills and uses the body when he has to muscle somebody for a puck.

I like this William Nylander, I like him a lot, the other guy not so much

Nylander has 18 hits on the year. Marner has 20 hits in his last 5 games. One guy has heart and passion for the game, the other shows up whenever he feels like it. The impact of Nylanders inconsistency forces line up changes with his demotion to the 3rd line. Funny how that works out for Nylander, easier line matchups for him on the 3rd line which demands less out of him from shift to shift. Thats perfect for Nylander but if im his team-mates or coach im disgusted being held hostage by Nylander. Trade him asap. I dont need to watch the playoffs to know Nylander will not win a game or be a major factor due to him being hungry. Especially watch him in a gritty playoff game stay to the outside, terrified of contact. If he makes 3 million and overachieves and works hard, no one gets on his case, when u have art ross talent but dont care, the movie must end now.

Did you happen to watch last year's playoffs?

Or or or, we can talk about the real problem and that is our massively overpaid 11 million dollar captain who hasn't looked stellar all year. Only reason his numbers look even passable is because Nylander had an insane run to start the year and Tavares has looked paltry at 5v5 ever since, feasting only on PP time for his production.

In the same nimber of games and almost identical ice time, Nylander has two more goals and two fewer assists than JT, two OT goals (JT has none) and five GWG (JT has three), plus a higher shooting %. Tavares is better at faceoffs, but that seems to be about it.

JT also leads all forwards in giveaways with 63, and has only 36 takeaways. Compare that to Nylander with 31 giveaways and 53 takeaways.

I would put Nylander with Mihkeyev and Kerfoot, and Tavares with two of Kase, Spezza, Robertson, and Engvall, or maybe even Bunting.

I don't care if you call them 2 and 3, or 3 and 2, or 2A and 2B.

Nylander with Miky and Kerfoot would be money tbh. So much speed on that line

Yes because fans control the scat that lurks inside the mind of the most susceptible GM in the history of the NHLs cash register franchise:sarcasm:
