Yeah, I assume they know what they're doing much more than I do, but it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. You would think they would get more viewers by showing two games at the same time (one on a secondary channel or something) than intentionally putting a game at a time when few people will be able to watch it.

You're dealing with 4 games on Friday. The Dodgers are the home team against the Mets so they're getting the late start regardless. The other two teams are both in the Midwest time zone and you're not going to have them start a game at 11:45am local time so split the difference and the Jays get 12:45 on Friday.

It has nothing to do with being the Canadian team. Baltimore last year played a 5pm game on Thur followed by the 12:30 game on Fri. Maybe they're biased against teams with birds as their mascots.

I don't think that the US cares about our Thanksgiving

(but it is columbus day down there, I don't know if it's a biggie).
