If the Blue Jays finished with the best record in the American League would they still have been given the same start times for Games 1 & 2? The fact that Game 3 starts Sunday at 8:00 PM makes me think that MLB would rather give the Rangers fan the better time since they will be back in the United States.

For sure they favour the Rangers because FOX is only making money off the Rangers market in our series, not Canada. Sportsnet still has Canadian rights so FOX has little incentive to put the Jays in prime time when they can capitalize on a much larger fanbase by putting KC and NY/HOU in primetime.

Is it possible to get MLB TV or something similar for a single day? I just need something to watch the game Friday on my phone at work.

If you have Sportsnet as part of your Cable/Sat package and you have an iOS or Android phone, you get the free Sportsnet NOW app that allows you to stream all the Sportsnet channels you subscribe to.

The Jays would have got the Royals G1/2 start times if they had HFA

Is this confirmed? I have a hard time believing the Jays would've got the prime time games unless they were playing the Yankees

Yes - the spot on Thursday night was reserved for a potential Yankee game, and per CBA you can't play a night playoff game and then the first day playoff game the next day.

If you're going to ask how I know the first part...well I know the first part.

Will I still be able to stream on Sportsnet Now?

I didn't renew my monthly MLB TV subscription the last couple months since I was home for most games, but I will buy the preseason if I have to I guess.

I booked a "dentist appointment" for Thursday 2pm game, but the 10:45 start on Friday is going to be tough. Will have to watch and work for a while and then maybe go home at lunch for the last 3 innings in the game is close.

If you have Sportsnet on your cable/satellite package through a recognized provider (Rogers, Bell, Shaw, Cogeco, etc) yes. As long as you're in the country.

I found out frustratingly while I was in Seattle that I couldn't watch Connected on my laptop because Sportsnet Now only works while you're in Canada. It's kind of like the reverse of the local blackouts that plague Centre Ice and (at least used to) plague gamecentre.

any announcement if Jays playoff games will be screened outside somewhere DT??

I believe it was discussed a while ago that this probably won't happen because of how MLB licenses and distributes broadcast/usage rights. So if you're not at hte game or at home, your likely only alternative is to head to a bar or something like that.

Well, ****, going to have to pull some magic to watch a reasonable amount of the games, on Thursday and Friday.

Bell is a no-go...it's only Rogers, Shaw, Cogeco, Telus
