Anybody know what the rough schedule for the ALCS would be (if we got there)?

Would it be something like

Oct 25

?

Game 1 - Fri, Oct 16
Game 2 - Sat, Oct 17
Game 3 - Mon, Oct 19
Game 4 - Tue, Oct 20
Game 5 - Wed, Oct 21
Game 6 - Fri, Oct 23
Game 7 - Sat, Oct 24

If I were able to buy a ticket and the game didn't happen, would they refund? Or try to apply it as credit?

YI'm sure if I didn't work in a sports store where the game will be on, I'd be a bit more upset about the times but unless you're one of the "bandwagon" fans how did you not see this coming? It sucks but at the same time don't we get back to back quadruple headers? This is why I love the first round of baseball and hockey playoffs. So much to watch.

EDIT: Just looked at the full schedule. Only get the second quadruple header if all series go to four. Hopefully but not hopefully that happens.

I hope MLB comes to their senses and changes those start times, but I doubt they do, the stubborn ********. That's just utter stupidity. Why aren't these games all at 8pm ET like normal?

It's a joke that this was even considered. What ********.

ETA: Game 1 should be 8pm and the Royals game at 4pm. Game 2 should be 4pm, the Royals at 7 and the Cardinals at 1. :dunno:

Do the MLB have monkeys making their schedules?

That said, it's a joke they have day games during weekdays at all. Have your quadruple headers on Saturday and Sunday. Leave Thursday and Friday to regular weekday start times. :shakehead

exactly. Sports is meant to be played at night during the week.
weekends are fine for afternoon games

so you're mad that we get a day game so your solution is give the Cardinals a day game?

MLB are not going to have any of the games at the same time. So it's only logical that the Canadian market gets the shaft. It's not fair but you had to realize that was going to happen. It has nothing to do with "moneys making the schedule", your only concern is the Jays, that's not MLB's only concern

Cardinals will play home vs Chicago or Pittsburgh. Jays will play Texas. Makes more sense for fairness to play our game at 4 and give the two Eastern times the early game so that no one has to watch games at 11:30.

MLB are not going to have any of the games at the same time.

Because they're morons.

so Texas is going with Holland/Hamels in the first 2 games? yeah game 2 is more incentive now to pitch Stroman. Really push them to the limit and take the first 2 games and then we're golden with their back end of that rotation.

Because they're morons.

Chicago and St. Louis are both on central time

why exactly are they morons for having 12 hours or programming instead of 6?

Sure less people will likely watch the day games, but overall they'll probably get more viewers

But then you will miss the ALCS and WS should the Jays get there ;)

ohh I will get to catch some of the game but yeah I assumed that. ALCS/W.S games usually start at 8, not my first rodeo with watching playoff baseball. I know some are going nuts over the times but it was to be expected. It happens to the Raptors all the time. Usually get the early game and the big markets get the prime time slots. I'm not really sure why people expected any differently with the Jays. The Yankees/Dodgers/Cardinals/Mets etc are all a priority over the Jays.

well that's over with and this is a different year. Even Price admitted that he's evolved as a pitcher over the last year or so. Look this guy obviously is trying to have a positive mind frame going in. Good for him, but I'll take my chances with Price over Holland in game 1 for sure. Game 2 will be a battle Stroman/Hamels more than likely.

Whoops. Thought STL was eastern for some reason.

Caring more about length of programming versus ballpark fans is moronic, IMO, especially since I'd bet there'd be negligible difference between having 4 games from 1 to midnight versus having 4 games starting at 4 and 8 as far as fan viewing on TV. You'd probably even get more the latter method since local fans will be watching unlike the current method where local fans will be at work and national viewers would probably not match that loss.

Again, do 1pm-midnight during Saturday and Sunday games. Leave regular times for the weekdays. The fact that the latter is always going to piss off some fans should be a good hint that it's a bad idea.

New to baseball playoffs, are you?

New to caring about them.

The best part of the baseball playoffs is that you know they are going to schedule the games in succession starting at 1 right on through 'til the west coast game at night. 12 consecutive hours of high intensity baseball at your disposal.

It was easier to enjoy though when you don't have a rooting interest in the teams and you're not concerned if you miss the early game while at work. This year, 12:45 sucks large.

Beltre and Andrus are Price killers. Get by them and we should be fine.

In 92 & 93 Day games during the work week were played so this isn't new. Hopefully this doesn't happen again this post season.

Yea. It is what it is. I'm just glad it's not back to back early afternoon games. 4pm is do-able.

I'm so pumped for post-season ball. Tomorrow's game should be fun.
