A little is okay. Keeps everyone on their toes. Wilson is not. Hahahaha.I never had a problem with a little psychosis on the ice, especially if its on our side
machinehead says he's bad thoI’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, he reminds me of Dubinsky.
Honestly it's not even close. Just terrific stuff. His line has been our best line early on.
Pretty good indication he's good thenmachinehead says he's bad tho
I think you are erring on the side of caution.15 goal 3rd line energy guy who is a load on the forecheck and will punch your lights out is a great guy to have
you might be right. i just rather we lock him up to a 6 year deal as a 15 goal energy guy than as a 45-50 point middle 6 power winger.I think you are erring on the side of caution.
13 goals as a rookie. Playing with guys who were not generating offense… With the right linemates (like 72-24 are playing right now) I see him as a perennial 20-25 goal scorer, 45-50 point guy who leads he team in hits.
Right now I see his line as our second line. I have no problem saying he’s already a middle sixer, rather than pure 3rd liner.
And lost in all this is he’s still just 22… he’s got more runway. His ceiling may be higher than we’ve been giving him credit for… power wingers take more time…
f*** yeah. I say sign him long term NOW.you might be right. i just rather we lock him up to a 6 year deal as a 15 goal energy guy than as a 45-50 point middle 6 power winger.
That assumes we have the cap space to give him a long-term deal. With everyone else we need to sign, that's far from a given.f*** yeah. I say sign him long term NOW.
Fair enough. That assumes we have the cap space to give him a long-term deal. With everyone else we need to sign, that's far from a given.
He has some limitations offensively but seems to do everything else well. Big, strong, can skate, forechecks well, cycles, goes to the net. If he can add PK'ing to his resume, he will evolve into one of those glue guys that every team needs. He has salvaged the Andersson mess
Big time. His wrist shot is better then advertised. He has some limitations offensively but seems to do everything else well. Big, strong, can skate, forechecks well, cycles, goes to the net. If he can add PK'ing to his resume, he will evolve into one of those glue guys that every team needs. He has salvaged the Andersson mess.
Well we are constantly saying we fail to lock players up while they are still cheap… heres that opportunity. Did he hit a rookie wall last year? Sure. Was he playing with centers that were offensive black holes? Sure.I think we should wait a bit longer than 6 games before signing him long term considering he ended last season with 5 points in 43 games. What is the rush?
Jumping the gun will cost us cap space as well. The only difference is when. We either pay more now in the hopes we save later or save now and potentially pay more later. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer to this.Well we are constantly saying we fail to lock players up while they are still cheap… heres that opportunity. Did he hit a rookie wall last year? It would be a gamble, but depending on the deal could be a huge steal. If we signed him say 6 years at 4m AAV (Chytil is at about 4.5) that could be a fantastic deal. And if he merely stays a 15 goal physical, defensively responsible, 3rd line winger it’s still not a killer of a deal. Especially with the cap rising.
I get that there is no rush, but IMO, waiting will just cost us cap space.
Shesty is a bit question mark.Jumping the gun will cost us cap space as well. The only difference is when. We either pay more now in the hopes we save later or save now and potentially pay more later. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer to this.
More often than not, we don't have a choice because we are too close to the cap to offer players longer-term deals. If you look at those deals that turn into bargains, most of them are signed when a team is terrible and has plenty of cap space. Teams that are perennial cup contenders don't typically have that luxury.
If we can move Trouba's full cap hit, maybe we can afford to give Cuylle a longer-term deal with a higher AAV that will one day be a bargain. Or maybe that extra cap space will go to re-signing Kakko instead, or to signing someone to replace Lindgren. More than likely, Cuylle will get a bridge deal and we'll be tight up against the cap yet again. It's just the reality of our situation.
