I think with the 37th pick in the draft you’re hoping for a guy that can play. I don’t necessarily buy that he’s not going to be able to either.

I thought he looked way worse this year in the games I’ve seen for whatever reason
What he should've been doing is going to every single training session together with Rossi, instead of being "one of the boys" and working on his golf game. For a guy in his position, it's not good enough to do the same as everyone else. You've got to do more, or you simply won't make it to the NHL. Walker has some talent, and has wheels, but has to get stronger. Doesn't look like he got it done.

Spacek sent down to ECHL. Thought Masters would be sent down before Spacek. If you would've told me two months ago Spacek would be in ECHL this year, I'd have laughed at you.

Colorado spoils the shutout bid for Wallstedt. Johansson late to get back on the PK, Hunt goes down to try and block the cross crease, it gets through and it's an easy tap in.

Then Walker scores his first this year!

Hunt with two assists through two periods tonight. Wallstedt as solid as ever.
Both assists on the PP, I see from the box. NIce to see young D getting time in that situation. In previous years Hicketts and Mermis got the lion's share of PP TOI.

He was pinching in all night. Not sure if something was said to him but it was noticeable how active he was. All over the ice the two periods I watched.

83/86 this weekend for Wallstedt. Pretty good chance he’s the best goalie in the org at this point. Let him cook tho imo

At what point is he playing too well to keep in AHL?
At the exact moment MAF's contract is over. It's crazy how that works, definitely serendipity and not contract status. :sarcasm:

Truthfully, I'd like to see him put together the whole season down there. A long season played at a high level will tell us a more than a quarter season played at a high level followed by NHL backup duties.

Vlad Firstov had a nice rookie year in the KHL last year, and has improved year over year. He's only 22 but 4th on his team in scoring, and is only being loaned to the KHL team since he's signed with the Wild. I'd love to see him come back to America after maybe one more year with Torpedo, if he's up for it.

He will only come up if there is an injury, or if one/both of our goalies plays really badly. Should also be brought up for the playoffs as 3rd goalie, though at that point he might even be the 2nd choice.
