Do you get to watch him much? If so, is this offensive explosion because of luck, because he's had a developmental breakthrough, or because he's in a temporarily elevated role?

I mean there’s always a bit of luck involved when you’re averaging 2.5+ points a game over a streak, but he has looked the part when he’s been in the role. Khusnutdinov has been used all over the lineup this season and has mainly played in the top 6 when there’s been injuries. Right now, their 1C isn’t playing so he’s filling in. Earlier in the year he played wing on the top line for Gusev for a bit. Looking at his gamelong, he’s got 11 point in 11 games when playing on the top line, so he’s producing when given opportunity.

Hope he continues to get a ton of minutes like he did in the last few games.

Shame he's still at least 2 years away due to his contract.

@57special it’s my first time watching Iowa this season. Does Daemon Hunt always look this good?

Yes....well, maybe not quite this good, but he has been my fav of the three rookie Dmen. I like his low to the ice skating style, decision making, and two way abilities.

Khusnutdinov played 1st line center again today and got more TOI than any other forward on his team. 21+minutes in an OT game. Didn’t register any points.
