Genuinely curious - which young player did he fail to develop? Because if I am thinking Tolvanen/Glass/Trenin, those three were never really prospects I had big expectations to begin with knowing they had some major flaws to their game. Glass I was high on during his draft year but by the time he was traded to Nashville, his development already started to plateau in Vegas.

I only bring this up because I think Rossi, Faber, Boldy and the incoming prospects of Wallstedt, Yurov, Ohgren provide a more solid foundation and perhaps that concern may not be as prevalent.
Tolvanen, Fabbro, and Tomasino I would say are the main three, he not only didn't develop them he actively hurt their development.

Trenin was kind of already here, but frankly if Jeannot and Trenin hadn't of found chemisty I'm not sure either would have stuck.

People tend to forget Novak, but he came up right about the time of Covid and played well, then got Covid and we never saw him again for well over a year until all of the injuries happened. Hadn't been for those he wouldn't have been here at the end of last season.

Glass is the one guy you could kind of give Hynes a bit of credit for doing sort of well with, but even with him he only got in because Hynes was forced to play him because of injuries.

He loves to call up some tweeners though, those guys are his favorite to " develop ".

I may be in the minority here but as a Jets fan who saw the Wild allot I thought Evason did a decent job with the hand he was dealt.

And people were defending this league not having a problem with multiple upon multiple undeserving retread hires in this league.

Well, at least he can mentally put an asterix by one of his many, many losses this season.

Tomasino, Fabbro plateaued or regressed, Tolvanen was well respected before and was placed on waivers only to excel right after, not a single defenseman developed after that being a Nashville trademark for years.

Really, it's astonishing to me that Guerin hasn't tried to make a trade with Philly swapping Nordy for Gritty.

The man might be part cockroach. He was hired by the Predators less than a month after being fired by the Devils, and now hired by the Wild less than 6 months after being fired by the Predators.

This man has never really accomplished anything of note in the NHL. His best season, his team amassed 2 wins in the playoffs after finishing 5th in the Central. I guess he made it to the conference finals a couple of times in the AHL?
I remember getting swept in the first round of the playoffs twice when Dean was the coach in Milwaukee, Nashville's affiliate. Now they hire the previous Preds coach!

yeah, he did. He had some good regular seasons, but a terrible start to this year, compounded by injuries to Boldy and Spurgeon. He's a tough guy, but reasonably fair, and competent in the regular season, and 5 v 5 play. Certainly not above average, though. His teams regularly shit the bed in the playoffs, and his special teams were mediocre at best. Also cannot fix long running problems like FO's.

Going into the season 15M short on cap is certainly not on him, though.

Wow I’m surprised there is so much Guerin hate. Weren’t the buy outs necessary for the culture, as well as if Parise retired? He’s not even playing?

Am I mistaken? Wild fans do you like Guerin?

See it's posts like this that make this place a joke.

Gritty is a generational mascot. Philly ain't trading that.

Can't speak for everyone, but I've never liked him, and I think sentiment is slowly growing cold across the board.

Guerin is a square peg in a round league. A game based on speed and skill so he takes the team in the opposite direction and is shocked the wheels fell off. It’s a miracle they stayed on as long as they did.
