ahh no he was 2nd in goals. 1st in ES. no player in the league has more ES goals then him since he came in (and he has missed 10 games). thats isnt 15-20 bud

Willie isn't a superstar yet, he also isn't a big scorer. He has a hell of a shot but he doesn't use it much. I'm not sure what you're trying to prove. What made Willie's season so spectacular last season was that he was struggling earlier on and ended up spending a good chunk of time on the 4th line and he made his way up the lineup to Matthews' wing and started putting up near PPG numbers for a couple months straight. He tailed off towards the end of the season but his strong performance for the middle part of the season was impressive. No Leafs fan is going to brag about Willie's goal scoring. Silly BesserI love y'all Leaf Fans when you bring up ES goals.... you guys never bring it up when discussing your Superstar winger in Nylander and his INSANE rookie season do you?
and Mcdavid doesnt look like he can crack more than 30g so should we give him the same treatment? It is when he can't crack more than 30 assists.

I don't think Canucks fans should be trying to down play Willie since a vast majority of them were drooling about him all of last season. Their out of town thread last season was a treat for me. I've never seen any fanbase give so much love to Leafs players. On the flip side though, I'm glad Virtanen is stick around town full time now. He's a great kid and deserves to be in the NHL!
I also hope the Leafs kick the **** out of the Canucks tomorrow. Return the favour for the undeserved win Canucks had last time we faced them.

He's been lucky so far this season, what's to say he won't be lucky again?I hope you guys win too, our team is crap and Leafs have some nice pieces so hopefully you guys don't lose! Lets hope Boeser doesn't light up Top 3 goalie in the world Andersen now though
when matthews wins a hart and ross and cracks 100 points come see meand Mcdavid doesnt look like he can crack more than 30g so should we give him the same treatment?
But his main point is just incorrect and by trying to say he plays 17 minutes a game is disingenuous at best. Again, there are 10 other players in the NHL playing under 19 minutes that are within 2 points of being a PPG player. Matthews is a great player but his minutes are certainly not holding him back.
not a very good goal scorer thoughIf McDavid never achieved higher than #20 in scoring, yes. However, we know he has.
when mcdavid comes anywhere near 40 goals or contends for the rocket trophy see me.when matthews wins a hart and ross and cracks 100 points come see me
not a very good goal scorer though
True, but he more than makes up for it with his playmaking ability.
Sorry we may be to busy watching Matthews in the playoffs.when matthews wins a hart and ross and cracks 100 points come see me
not really

I wouldn't say Matthews is one dimensional, his defensive play is underrated. I don't think it makes up for his average playmaking ability though.

Having an offensive anchor I Zach Hyman on his line , who can't finish a play does not make Matthews an average playmaker
