Why are the Devils 21-4-1? insane easy schedule, makes perfect sense.

As stated here frequently, Devils’ fans don’t expect a Cup this season. However, Boston fans have admitted that this season is most likely the aging Bruins’ last hurrah. Therefore, please bump this thread next year when the youthful Devils’ stars are a year older, the team has added two young studs on defense, and the Bruins are on the down slide.
The Bruins were supposed to be on a downside since 2014. Aren't folks like you tired of forecasting the demise of other teams and be proven wrong. Here's a free suggestion: mind YOUR team.

The Bruins probably are the best team in the league. We could lose both games to them this month and still have an 8-10 point lead on the division. Doesn't mean the Devils are all of a sudden exposed and a bad hockey team. No Devils fan is trying to say we're the best team in the league. But the way fans of some teams act like we're not allowed to enjoy this success is tiresome.
The post I was responding was literally a Devils fan saying they’re the best team in the league

All of your “not to mentions” are basically a wash at best, so you’re sort of arguing against yourself.
A wash that each and everyone favours the Bruins isn’t a “wash”.

Also who on the Devils comes close to Lindholm and especially McAvoy?

I was simply responding to the NJ fan saying no team can compete with them THIS year. Everything you said here is irrelevant to that

I have seen enough Devils playoff hockey in my lifetime to know that games never come easy in May-June.
With that being said, this Devils team really doesn't have any notable weaknesses.
Superb goaltending tandem, top 5 league-wide defensive unit, two elite centers and four solid productive lines, a veteran coach with experience in the playoffs who has taken a less talented team to the cup finals.
Which team in the East can better that currently?

I feel as though you exaggerated his comments to sound worse than they were.

It seems the suggestion was the Devils dont have a glaring weakness; they then labeled their positives about the team and subsequently asked who can compare to them

Personally Id have Boston Vegas and Colorado right there if theyre healthy, probably Carolina as well. And that is purely based off of the last 26 games.

The Devils’ fan was referring to their speed, which is true, being that they are a top 3 team insofar as that is concerned. Good grief. 🤔

Uhhh… no… where is speed even mentioned in this post? 😂

He asked who can better everything he listed and I showed how Boston can.

Lindy Ruff also took that less talented team to the East Finals, in 98, before the cup finals in 99, then 1 win away from the East Finals again in 2001. Then Ruff took a different core of Sabres to two straight East Finals in 06 and 07 (Along with a presidents trophy) ....I'm glad there were "Sorry Lindy" chants.

No one is a direct comparison to McAvoy and Lindholm , but I’d take the Devils D over Boston’s if taking into account their prospects as well. Some of the parts I’d say is as good as Bostons .
Hamilton Hughes Nemec Marino Seigenthaler Severson Graves Bahl Okhotiuk Mukhamadoulin Casey .
Of course I’d prefer McAvoy over any of thise guys (for now) but give it a couple years and Devils depth is insane.
For the time being , Devils 1-6 is very solid and I’d say is as good as Boston’s 1-6 all together .

And some fans make it sound if you don’t win the cup you didn’t have a successful season. Well, since only one team wins it I guess the rest of NHL teams are losers.

Superb goaltending tandem through early December. Can Vanacek maintain this level with a greater workload than he's ever had? Can he do it in the playoffs? Is Schmid for real or a flash in the pan? Devils went from second to last in the league to fourth in save percentage. Is that sustainable? These are reasonable, legitimate questions.

I am a hard core Devils fan and have been for years. So it is natural to be somewhat biased . I am nkt saying the Devils are “the best team in the NHL” and I don’t think many Devils fans are either.
They might be currently 1st in the league in points but they are not in winning % . They are looking like a very good team . I wouldn’t go as far to say they are the best ….but they have at least shown this year that they deserve to be brought up as one of the top teams in the league so far.
Thays part of what makes sports entertaining . Discussing with other fans who is better and why they think the team they cheer for is the awesome.

Boston's NHL D group >>> New Jersey's.

Yet to face Bruins, Stars, Hurricanes, Penguins, Lightning, Panthers, Jets, Wild, Blues, Kings, Golden Knights, Kraken
Most of those teams are average teams. Not playing them means nothing. If the Blues or Kings would have played at lost to the Devils , you would not given them credit for beating anyone that great.
I can’t wait to see what your excuse will be once my Devils stomp most of those teams.

For now. #1 -6 you are saying Boston is THAT much better than the Devils ? I said they are close. Severson as a number 5 is pretty damn solid.
Advanced stats have Hamilton / Seigenthaler and Graves / Marino as two pairings that are amounst the most effective in the league.
Im sorry but I don’t see how Boston’s 1-6 is that much better.
