THE ATHLETIC IS GARBAGE
I see Askarov as the only all-star/game breaker/blue chip available at 4. I don't consider anyone else available at 4 a blue-chip, and it's sad.
It's between Drysdale, Raymond, and Rossi IMO.
We're drafting Stutzle though, somehow.
I'm in this boat. May as well take a goalie at #4 and get it over with.I see Askarov as the only all-star/game breaker/blue chip available at 4. I don't consider anyone else available at 4 a blue-chip, and it's sad.
Can you elaborate?
Gimme drysdale
He was just as dominant in the O as Laf was in the Q. Why don't you like him?Exactly how I feel about Rossi. Top 5 on him would infuriate me. I will root for whatever guy they pick, but it will honestly be the most upset I have been about a pick in a long time.
The Askarov situation just got real, boys.
Still not sure that who Yzerman favors, but now I'll have 4 months to convince everyone here the Russian goaltender is the best way for us to salvage this draft.
Askarov was terrible at the WJC
Isn't the O considered a Zero D league? Plus he (1) like the oldest player in the draft; and (2) played on a line with another arguably Top 12 pick in Jack Quinn. Or did Rossi make Quinn look that good?He was just as dominant in the O as Laf was in the Q. Why don't you like him?

Personally, I voted for Raymond a few days ago because I like the idea of a skilled righty and the Mitch Marner comps I've read. But today I'm leaning more and more towards Perfetti. Totally not scientific, but he's one of the only top guys who still looks like a kid - could have some growth left in him. Skating can be worked on, and even if he didn't improve he'd still be a second line, PP1 guy.
You mean trade Mantha and Larkin?Ok, so this team will be a bottom feeder for at least another three or four years before they become impact players? Yzerman needs to consider rebuilding the rebuild at this point because the current core will be too old by the time the Red Wings will be ready again.
