Who to lose

My list of players I'd like to see replaced/traded:

Pyatt
Richards (not likely)
Gaborik (don't "want" to see him traded, but it's inevitable, and I'd like to trade him at the draft for some value)
Hamrlik

Dan Boyle wreaks of desperation . The NYR as constructed are not ready for prime time . Especially with Richards and Gaborik as luggage

I don't think you can trade Hammer because he was picked up off of waivers, but other than that I agree.

Disagree, not with your opinion of Boyle, but the Ranges not being ready.

Well, they're not ready right this second. They need a productive C, W, and they need an offensive defenseman. The bottom-6 should sort itself out, being filled with young players who are already in the organization.

What I'm saying is that they're not that far away. A couple pieces, and they'll be ready. The funny thing is, we have potentially two of those pieces - Richards and Gaborik. If those two could start producing, we'd be in much, much better shape. Question is, do you wait until next season to see if they rebound, or do you not take any chances and make the change NOW.

They also need a new coach, but that's for another thread.

Rangers either need to put Nash at LW, or get a top 6 LW.. We are DEEP at RW (Nash, Gaborik, Callahan), but we have nothing on the LW until Kreider realizes his potential., Hagelin is a hell of a player, but he's just not someone who I rely on to finish. We also need a 3C and an offensive RHD and then we'll be ready. and IF Gaborik/Richards play to their potential, we'll be one of the cup favorites.

Love Hagelin, but I love him even more on the 2nd line LW.

While Kreider develops, we need a more skilled LW on the top line. Maybe Zucc can be that LW, but I doubt it.

You'd lose Richards "for the right value"? He's on his way to getting bought out.

Let's not forget that if we trade Richards, we won't be off the hook if he retires prematurely. I'd be shocked if he isn't bought out after next season.

Precisely what I mean. 2RW and 1C and 1Lw are thin . Plus desperately need an offensive D man not a dinosaur who can shoot the puck . I'm not worried about a " PPQB" just would like a guy who can decisively shoot and get it through and on net

I'd buy him out in the summer of '14. Not this summer.

Hagelin to me is more of a "grinder" and made for the 3rd line just the way he plays, same with Callahan. Imagine if we got a top LW and Hagelin was able to move to the 3rd line.

meh, not really into short term fixes. Richards and Gaborik can both be effective and most players on this team can as well. The identity of this team has dissolved away and Torts is not responding to that. Asham is probably one of the guys that are more hungry to play in our bottom 6 and yet he is the only man scratched. He is probably the only one that can drop the gloves and the only one that wants to rough it up when the opportunity comes but he's the lone man out of last night's game.

Looking at CBJ's team, they don't have stars on that team but they all want to play and want to win. In front of their crowd in March, they're 8-0-2. They feed off of the energy of the home crowd and more importantly, the compete level of their teammates.

The Rangers are a depressed team not meeting expectations and not being able to figure out what is going wrong and why they can't score with the talent on the roster. The players this team needs to lose are the ones that aren't helping the identity of the team and more importantly, they just need to add heart and soul back into this team.

The whole thing once again is predicated upon whether or not Gaborik ,Richards are actually humans or zombies .
As for BOYLE PYATT we need to replace them with some bottom six guys with size who actually have some snarl and can at least pot a few goals and create some O

Pyatt; he showed a pulse last night, but mostly, he's the most irrelevant player I've ever watched.
I think we should keep Boyle until next year, unless there's a nice offer for him. Yeah, he can't do anything offensively, but you can say that about most of the roster. Size, face off/PK skills are important attributes...
Hamrlik...yeah, see ya.

Curious question: When Gartner was traded at the deadline, was there a concern that the Rangers' chemistry would be disturbed?

Gartner and Gaborik were similar players, although Gartner was better in every way.

To me, they both seemed to value #'s production over leadership and sacrifice.

I think the bolded gets glossed over far too much year after year and continues to be a problem due to that cavalier attitude.

Staal-Del Zotto
McDonagh-Stralman
White-McIlrath
Eminger

D isn't bad. The top-3 is still ridiculous. I think Stralman can handle it, he's been handling it his entire time here.

Stralman 2nd pairing. U kidding me? Girardi should stay and should go no where,he is as solid as anyone on the blue line. I'd be quicker to package Staal before Girardi to be honest..I say it ow and have been for two years, don't get everyone's fascination with Staal,it's weird. NYR has played well any time he's been out..

Staal for Ryan straight up

Hagelin IMO is and wont be more than a 3rd line winger. He's not top 6. He's only top z6 die to lack of real top 6 depth

Oh come on. Staal>Girardi

Due to the fact that Staal is more physical that's all I give him. I'm not a fan of him and never been. I say move him. He provides a better physical game but nothing whatsoever offensively. Girardi and Staalare equal defensively,I may even say zgirardi is better

Uh, what?

12-8-2 with Staal this season.

4-7-1 without Staal this season.

Staal is clearly better than Girardi, and trading Staal over Girardi would be a disaster. It's been apparent for quite some time that Staal is better. Girardi was better than Staal one season, and Staal missed half of that season with a concussion; he ended up outplaying Girardi in the playoffs.

This season, get stats from his concussion season. Plus this season been **** from the get go man

Move Staal he will get back more. With DZ,mcD,Girardi, stralman, In the minors Skjei and McI..NYR is straight in d depth

Skjei is a long term project and Mcilrath is a huge ? Still and may not be ready until well until he is .
