My list of players I'd like to see replaced/traded:
Pyatt
Richards (not likely)
Gaborik (don't "want" to see him traded, but it's inevitable, and I'd like to trade him at the draft for some value)
Hamrlik
Dan Boyle wreaks of desperation . The NYR as constructed are not ready for prime time . Especially with Richards and Gaborik as luggage
Disagree, not with your opinion of Boyle, but the Ranges not being ready.
Well, they're not ready right this second. They need a productive C, W, and they need an offensive defenseman. The bottom-6 should sort itself out wbeing filled with young players who are already in the organization.
What I'm saying is that they're not that far away. A couple pieces, and they'll be ready. The funny thing is, we have potentially two of those pieces - Richards and Gaborik. If those two could start producing, we'd be in much, much better shape. Question is, do you wait until next season to see if they rebound, or do you not take any chances and make the change NOW.
They also need a new coach, but that's for another thread.
You'd lose Richards "for the right value"? He's on his way to getting bought out.
Let's not forget that if we trade Richards, we won't be off the hook if he retires prematurely. I'd be shocked if he isn't bought out after next season.
I'd buy him out in the summer of '14. Not this summer.
Love Hagelin, but I love him even more on the 2nd line LW.
While Kreider develops, we need a more skilled LW on the top line. Maybe Zucc can be that LW, but I doubt it.
Curious question: When Gartner was traded at the deadline, was there a concern that the Rangers' chemistry would be disturbed?

Staal-Del Zotto
McDonagh-Stralman
White-McIlrath
Eminger
D isn't bad. The top-3 is still ridiculous. I think Stralman can handle it, he's been handling it his entire time here.
Rangers either need to put Nash at LW, or get a top 6 LW.. We are DEEP at RW (Nash, Gaborik, Callahan), but we have nothing on the LW until Kreider realizes his potential., Hagelin is a hell of a player, but he's just not someone who I rely on to finish. We also need a 3C and an offensive RHD and then we'll be ready. and IF Gaborik/Richards play to their potential, we'll be one of the cup favorites.
Oh come on. Staal>Girardi
Steal an 2nd pairing. U kidding me? Girardi should stay and should go no where,he is as solid as anyone on the blue line. I'd be quicker to package Staal before Girardi to be honest..I say it ow and have been for two years, don't get everyone's fascination with Staal,it's weird. NYR has played well any time he's been out..
Staal for Ryan straight up
Uh, what?
12-8-2 with Staal this season.
4-7-1 without Staal this season.
Staal is clearly better than Girardi, and trading Staal over Girardi would be a disaster. It's been apparent for quite some time that Staal is better. Girardi was better than Staal one season, and Staal missed half of that season with a concussion; he ended up outplaying Girardi in the playoffs.
