Who is the softest team in the playoffs? Which team brings to most grit?

You just wrote a lot of words to say "Trust me, I know".

This whole conversation is boring and pointless.

Tampa is dirty to me, not gritty.
Yeah I wasn't expecting anything of substance from you here. You are upset that the Leafs are called soft while a team you dislike is called gritty, it's plain as day. One could assess it rationally by comparing teams in their style of play over time. There is no stat that would appease you either, no need to play dumb.

Here is my favorite gritty Tampa moment. No one stuck up for Colton because Clifford is tougher than them.

or when everyone jumped Matthews for this hit.

Tampa picks their spots, they are tough sometimes

This is the usual outcome when Maroon fights anyone decent... his only skills are being fat and a good hugger.

Jeannot is legit a tough guy, I'll give the Lightning that.

You already told him he's in the wrong place if he asking about stats, now you're complaining about a lack of substance from him? Nice that you've brought this down to just an eye test, with your eye being the only one that counts.

Schenn - 318 hits - 1st in the NHL
Acciari - 244 hits - 10th in the NHL
McCabe - 163 hits - 65th in the NHL
ZAR - 163 hits - 65th in the NHL
Holl - 151 hits - 83rd in the NHL
Lafferty - 125 hits - 126th in the NHL

Matthews led the series in hits last year and is leading the league in blocked shots for forwards this year. The Leafs added Accari, McCabe, Schenn, and Knies who all play a hard game. They also have Gio, ZAR, Simmonds if he draws in, Lafferty, etc in the bottom 6. Not to mention Bunting has no trouble being a pest and getting into things.

Didn't mention ROR either who isn't soft. So that poster IDK what they are talking about but the Leafs are not soft this year. There is a reason they had such a successful season defensively.
This usually happens when you end up being in your own defensive zone too long and too much...Not a great stat TBH

It is truly crazy that he is in his zone too much and still does this. Generational.

So they are burried in their own zone all year, I am sure then you'll agree the Leafs depth has carried them and they are a very deep team.

This thread: Watching leaf fans mentally breakdown cause people think their team is soft. Like who cares? Be strong and ignore it.

I think it’s like when owners and dogs start to look alike. Leaf fans are mimmicking the mental toughness of their team now.

Sad.

Soft.

Sad soft. Like a kitten with cancer.

I want a definition of what grit is, that's all.

Laying your body on the line to win? Not saying Maroon/Perry aren't, but if that is the definition, Matthews and O'Reilly are (the book is still out on Knies, but he looks like it too.)
You mean like the few times in scrums when Matthew’s laughs and skates away from scrum.

avs have mack, rants, lehky and nuke in their top 6 and compher, and oconnor in the bottom 6. they have manson, bryam and ej on the backend. its a good mix all through their lineup.
AVS are are one of the softest team going into playoffs.

I don't know where other forum posters live, but it's kinda like amazing outside.

You can still hate the Leafs while cleaning up your lawn etc.

Did I miss something. When did the Kings become soft? They’re a gritty defensive team that’s literally their identity.
2012 is a long time ago, that identity left when Lombardi and Sutter got fired. The team is soft and not physical. They'll battle but the days of grinding opponents out against the boards are over. Oilers will bully them physically, unfortunately.

Yikes. Don’t even know what it is?

I’d watch the other 15 teams in the playoffs. Grit is something best seen then explained.

Sad.

Grit is abuse, the willingness to take it and to give it.

Grit is giving it everything you have.

Grit is..................... workhorse type of thing.

Look up workhorse in regards to a human being, that is grit.

Are we talking about the same tuff leafs who got pushed around by Cbus, Habs and Tampa?

Lead by their man who nervously laughs in scrums and gets ragdolled? These leafs? Maybe they added some gritty players but their core is butter soft. Guess which players get the most icetime..?

--

Jersey is a smallish team, but Rangers didn't give them too much trouble during the regular season.

Leafs are getting swept so no need to think anymore about that.
