Speculation: Where does Ullmark go?

Good bet he’s staying in the Atlantic with either Ottawa or Detroit.

Guess is, he gets traded to DET or OTT after the 1st round next week, as Boston tries holding out for a 1st from either in THIS draft. NOT their own late 1st btw.

Or at least after Detroit picks at 15th overall, they’ll announce the trade. Earlier if the Bruins give up trying to get a 2024 Top 20 pick. If that’s the case, it could happen tomorrow.

It’ll likely be a trade where a 2025 1st is included, as long as he will extend with either team.

Neither team will make the trade without somewhat of a commitment he’ll extend.

I don’t know who gets him or for what but I get the feeling it could get announced during the draft. The Bruins don’t have a first so this could give the fans a little excitement.

Well

Forsberg buyout would cost about 900,000 for two years. So that trade would save Boston about 3-3.5 this year depending on the Bussi contract for a replacement.

Word from one of our insiders is Chychrun has Boston as one of his preferred places to go to in a trade. Whether or not he gets included in the deal we'll have to wait and see but it makes sense if Ullmark signs the deal, the Sens would like to unload some salary.

If they want Ullmark and korpisalos ridiculous contract gone then potentially “yes”
Still no. We can buy out Korpisalo for 1.8 x 8, so be it. We can eat half to make him at least palpable and add a 2nd, but the 7th is off the table IMO.

Ullmark for Chychrun actually makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Elliotte Friedman adds this today - Elliotte Friedman doesn’t rule out Toffoli’s return to Vancouver - Dose.ca

What will the Bruins do?

The case of Linus Ullmark seems to be complicated in Boston.

In fact, the Bruins aren’t open to the idea of trading him for a division rival (Leafs and Senators), and that makes perfect sense.

On the other hand,
According to Renaud Lavoie, there’s one club to keep an eye on in the goaltender’s case.

And here, the journalist is talking about the Golden Knights:

But in Vegas, we like to do things a little differently.

And that’s where the arrival of (another) star player like Linus Ullmark can make a lot of sense.

I can’t figure out what the return from Vegas would be. Maybe Karlsson now that they have Hertl.
