When will Tony DeAngelo situation get resolved?

I think everything that happened this season is just the tip of the iceberg, I suspect ADA committed numerous "offenses" during his time here and they were handled internally (and somehow not leaked to the public).

That being the case, it certainly explains why Gorts issued the ultimatum after the door slamming incident.

Also, as an aside, if either Zibanejad or Kreider were a strong leader, you would have expected one of them to talk to ADA about his behaviour; not Trouba.

So many signs point to us having a weak leadership core right now.
How do we know they didn't try? DeAngelo certainly seems like the type to blow that off and do what he wants.

@Edge is the source. Take it or leave it :dunno:

The puck thing was made up, yeah. At the time, Edge said that it may have been leaked by Gorton to see who was spilling info to Herman. But that's just supposition.

I'm admittedly a very liberal person, but if somebody with my views was constantly shitting on ADA, Fox, and Lemieux about it, and wouldn't stop despite teammates (Trouba) interjecting multiple times, as well as management. And then shit on a goalie after a bad game, causing a fight; I'd be saying the exact same thing.

edit - and ADA was warned by management that he was on his last straw. In a logical world he should have been the last person to get involved in a fight. Even if you want to say that it was Georgiev's fault (who has no past history of being a jackass to teammates), ADA was still involved in creating a mess for the lockerroom to deal with.

The puck thing always seemed like bunk, and was identified as such on here.

As for what preceded ADA's banishment, every source I have has doubled down on the discomfort he was causing and his inability to recognize time and place, particularly as it pertains to the locker room.

So that's where we are at.

He was warned. And not 48-72 hours after his last warning, he's involved in an altercation.

It is what it is and there's a reason other teams prefer to let things cool down before potentially taking a chance on him.

... He was warned. And not 48-72 hours after his last warning, he's involved in an altercation...
Not only that, he gets involved in an altercation he started with words that made Georgiev extremely angry at him. With his goalie, the teammate he was involved with in the miscommunication that scored the OT loss. And he's 25, not a pup anymore. His brain is supposedly fully developed. Prior to a warning like the day before that his toxic behaviour is on its last straw.

Alright if the started an altercation with the opposing team. Stupid, yes, but a TEAMMATE? DeAngelo had just started to get a chance, he received a great contract and he does... this. My mind is sometimes blown how stupid and undisciplined some hockey players are.

It's not just hockey players. Seems like this stupidity has become a part of every sport.
Yes, sadly so. In an era where education and knowledge is so easily available and entire concepts are easily soaked to form your mind into a more solid, psychic point with a strive for the most perspectives, people like actors, athletes, journalists and politicians still think becoming a bit more wise is a waste of time. It is in the job description, apparently. They are our role models and leaders and they are where they are because they may be smart, but really unwise. So, sharp yet dulled and reactive, dumb minds, hence really good at playing our game within the board rules. Sorry, I didn't want to turn this into something political - which I think it's not, but more modern, common sense - YES, hockey players are genereally extremely dumb.

That was my point. You are correct. Hockey players are generally quite stupid. And to be stupid enough to be kicked off a hockey team that relies on you: that requires a special amount of stupid. It's not like my own observations of hockey players differ from this dim outlook from my school days.

I was an athlete too. We had our boneheads and I can't say I was especially bright either as a teenager. I mean, I got good grades, but was I smart? Hell no. If I had stayed within my sphere of recognition as an athlete and made a career out of it, I would've remained quite simple minded, I think.

But when it came to the hockey players in our class, holy hell. They set a standard for being total boneheads that was so low, I already felt smarter. I didn't have to learn the term "piss bomb" until I heard what could happen in a shower room among teenage hockey players. I mean, even a monkey would question what he's about to do before performing a piss bomb on another team member. Holy hell. That's the standard to be above to have "hockey IQ". Luckily for them it usually doesn't measure more than that in the capacity of the brain.

Athletes are dumb, but physical athletes are nobody you should look up to, just admire their skill. Generally speaking of course, there are smart hockey players.

Uhhh...no.

For those of you who haven’t noticed, Greenway is Minnesota’s leading scorer.

Yeah were not getting him. Funny though, I just talked to a Wild fan yesterday and I asked if they'd be a team in on D'angelo. You think they'd also like to block him from the Nucks :D

BTW, Hated the Gropp pick.

...what does (Gallant) think of DeAngelo...

Deangelo actually plays with some edge to his game ironically

with JD, Gorts, DQ gone, and a bit of Cap flexibility,
it is an interesting open question, whether Tony D is given another NYR 'life' under Gallant.
If so, I still think he doesn't last here, restores his credibility some and traded as a rental to contender

would take some urgency off of Nils

but the buyout seems the odds-on favorite,

Yeah, he's toast.

I’d expect we’d find out soon that Nils has a better two way game than DeAngelo. I think Schneider likely will show better too.

Really Tony’s days were numbered with us even before his locker room kerfuffle with Georgiev.

I’m not interested in tearing Tony apart. I think he has legit talent but he also has weaknesses to his overall game. I think some people here overrate his physical game because he fights very well for his size but that’s a 2/3 times a year thing. He doesn’t hit a lot and he’s easily overpowered by bigger, stronger opponents.
