One of the things that sunk him, at least several months ago, was the feeling that there wasn't necessarily a change in behavior or even an acknowledgement of what transpired.

If I’m the devils I take a flyer on him. They need a PMD for a few years. They’ll prob draft Clarke but ADA for 2 years in his home state probably wouldn’t be the worst thing if he can behave himself. Staying kind of close to home may have a positive influence on him.
On the flip side, if he hasn’t changed at all it’s a real gamble bringing him in a room with a loud voice around impressionable kids like Hughes, Hirschier, Smith, Holtz, etc. they just may want to avoid that entirely.
