I don't watch intermissions, I don't really care for what they may or may not have to say.
Go back and listen to Emerick, Thorne and Forslund, especially Emerick. His use of adjectives to describe the action was impeccable and never repeated. Each year or half a year, Willy gets hung up on a word and uses entirely too much. Power is the word this year so far. I don't even remember what it was last year but if you played a drinking game, you'd be sloshed by the end of the game, probably dead as he uses these words too much.
The other night when ROR scored on the PP, he called it a one timer when it was a redirect/tip. I was like, you have no clue what a one timer is?
We had Gus Nystrom playing for us earlier this year and Nick Blankenship. He'll call a player on the broadcast by the wrong name because it was off by a number but it's like, this guys a right-handed forward and you called him Lauzon. I get it, every PBP guy will make mistakes but come on, it's not a foul, this isn't basketball, it's a penalty. He tries to inject other sports terms into hockey and he sounds like an idiot when doing so.
The one good thing, he got better when Grimson was let go and Mason took his spot. Grimson was terrible.
I agree with you on the esoteric stuff that can be discussed and he does a good job of not doing that.
