As rough as it has been for the Leafs. Ever since we drafted Matthews we have won as many Stanley Cups as the might Bruins have.

Moreover, over the past 50 years, the Bruins won all of 1 cup more than the Leafs.

The Bruins have a distinguished record of losing the most Stanley Cup Final series at 14.

The vaunted Bruins are losers.

Qualifying for the playoffs doesn't give you a good playoff winning percentage. Winning games in the playoffs does.
Well 10 teams haven't made the playoffs in the past 3 years, so their .500 playoff record is Top 10 among the 22 teams that have?

Not really much of an achievement but sure, ok.

The only way that would matter is if you think teams that weren't even good enough to make it into the playoffs any of those years are better playoff teams than us over that time.

Is winning a playoff series once every 6 years considered Cup Competitive?

The Leafs just achieved the same thing of winning a single playoff round as the 2nd year recent expansion Seattle Kraken who took out the Stanley Cup champs. So in that context and at this point in time I don't see how not being able to win the Cup theory has been proven or disproven. :wg:

Lets see what happens next but having teams like record setting Bruins and Cup defending champs Avs on the sidelines already that Leafs didn't have any part in other then make their path to the Cup easier now but sure helps make the Leafs task easier when others take out the best teams for you. :)

This brings up a good point the Leafs are now favoured to win based on odds makers, so will they be able to win the CUP and silence all doubters as favourites, or fall to an underdog and join the others on the sidelines before its all over and have to answer to what went wrong this time round in a year of the upsets.

It must be tiring pretending to be a Leaf fan for so long.

Series records is all anyone ever cares or talks about, the rest is just participation ribbons.

You've been around long enough to remember it wasn't always that way.

When other Canadian team fans who are expert losers spent more time following the Leafs than their own team, to ensure we know that the Leafs would lose in the first round. Sad times.

I’m also the 2nd hottest guy in a golf foursome with Brad Pitt, David Beckham and Thor. So what.
It would be pretty impressive if you were second hottest in that foresome.

It does mean someting. The heartache sometimes blinds the fact that they have been a successful franchise over the past 7 years. Not a winning one, but compared to most teams they have done a lot of good things. Hopefully this year it translates into more post season success

Mess has been this way since Quinn, except for his unexplicable love of Dave Nonis.
He had an inexplicable love for everything Leafs.
Every player, Coach, front Office, dekes seems to have taken over that role currently.

Absolutely loved Paul Maurice for some reason.

Yup, I'm a die hard Leafs fan and love when they win, and hate when they lose and very critical of my team when they make poor management decisions.

19 years between playoff wins is a lot of material to be critical of analyzing.

"Never say never to a Paul Maurice coached team" I would always say, :wg:

PS. Don't know where people think I like Dave Nonis, as he was Burke's right hand man and I was simply releived when Burke was fired.

I don't have an "inexplicable love for everything Leafs". There are plenty of players, coaches, and front offices that I have disliked. I have a love of discussing the Leafs in a truthful way, based on the facts, and supporting things that are beneficial to the Leaf's success. You managed to describe two posters incorrectly in one post. Stop trying to start fights.

I think my pic says it all, wouldn’t you agree?

Stop lying. "in Nonis we trust" was another thing you would always say.
