If we merged every thread where the sky-is-falling group have crow to eat, we'd have... 1 thread left in this forum.
There’s nothing better than someone that fails spectacularly over and over again, does something once and acts like he is king sh$t. The players are probably humble about getting over this hump, yet the keyboard warriors act like they personally accomplished something.

I’m happy for them to finally get over the hump, and I hope they keep it rolling, but this eating crow nonsense is just that.

There are certainly people who "failed spectacularly over and over again", but it's not the Leafs and it's not the people who cheered for them.
Nobody here is acting like they personally accomplished something, and the players sound like they fully understand that the job is not finished. Most people here are just enjoying a great moment, and pointing out some objectively ridiculous comments and arguments that looked horrible at the time at the time, and look even worse now.
Eating crow is not nonsense. It means that at least the person acknowledges that they were wrong, and can learn to be better in the future. It's a step. It's growth.
Much better than mumbling at the "keyboard warriors" to get off your lawn and stop being happy and right so much.

Thing is, I’m not sure people are unhappy about them winning. And most people who have been critical of this core are not actually wrong. They still haven’t won jack Sh$t. The crow eating is a little premature.

I’ve been critical of this group, I love the additions Dubas made at the deadline, and it has seemed to give this core group a boost. I believe this team has the ability to make it to the finals and hopefully I am right so I can win my hockey pool. My expectations are ECF or bust, if that happens, I will eat anything.

You must lead a sad life to go through such effort. Still don’t like the Kadri trade or the Tavares signing. I will gladly eat anything if they make the ECF or further, but this is only 1 round in 7 years…
You know they are going to the cup. You just are ... scared.... to believe but.... you said ECF... like... you said the words.. You believe.

Less Go!

(Also don't look at my posts in this thread)

Well my playoff hockey pool says otherwise. I liked the moves by Dubas at the deadline, finally added the types of players they needed. Felt like they had turned a corner, and feel like they can make a run this year.

I think it's impressive when it happens ~5 years after the fatal blow against the team ever having a chance to truly compete was struck by a huge UFA overpay, especially when that fatal blow, the final nail in the coffin really, was followed like 6mos later by a huge RFA overpay, and then another huge RFA overpay, and then another huge RFA overpay, all of these contracts handed out by a rookie GM who was too green and soy-infused to understand that he could have re-signed the best forwards the team has ever drafted for 25-35% less cap hit if he bothered to look up what David Pastrnak signed for in 2017.

Pastrnak had 0 bearing on what Marner and Matthews got. He was not in any way a comparable for them. Multiple other inaccuracies in your post, but I’ll leave it at that

I believed then as I do to this day that you can't invest that much cap in so few players to be Cup competitive.
My apologies if you already walked this statement back and I missed it.

There are eight teams left and the Leafs are favoured in their series and the favourite overall to win the cup. That has to meet the criteria to be defined as cup competitive, no?
