maybe when they win a round
Ask and you shall receive
maybe when they win a round
I've been asking since 2004.Ask and you shall receive
I've been asking since 2004.
Are the Leafs not 4-4-1? Why are people constantly overreacting? It's concerning
If we merged every thread where the sky-is-falling group have crow to eat, we'd have... 1 thread left in this forum.Another thread that should basically just be merged with the Crow thread.
There’s nothing better than someone that fails spectacularly over and over again, does something once and acts like he is king sh$t. The players are probably humble about getting over this hump, yet the keyboard warriors act like they personally accomplished something. If we merged every thread where the sky-is-falling group have crow to eat, we'd have... 1 thread left in this forum.
There are certainly people who "failed spectacularly over and over again", but it's not the Leafs and it's not the people who cheered for them. There’s nothing better than someone that fails spectacularly over and over again, does something once and acts like he is king sh$t. I’m happy for them to finally get over the hump, and I hope they keep it rolling, but this eating crow nonsense is just that.

Nobody here is acting like they personally accomplished something, and the players sound like they fully understand that the job is not finished. Most people here are just enjoying a great moment, and pointing out some objectively ridiculous comments and arguments that looked horrible at the time at the time, and look even worse now.
Eating crow is not nonsense. It means that at least the person acknowledges that they were wrong, and can learn to be better in the future. It's a step. It's growth.
Much better than mumbling at the "keyboard warriors" to get off your lawn and stop being happy and right so much.
Thing is, I’m not sure people are unhappy about them winning. And most people who have been critical of this core are not actually wrong. They still haven’t won jack Sh$t. The crow eating is a little premature. There are certainly people who "failed spectacularly over and over again", but it's not the Leafs and it's not the people who cheered for them.

Some are. And most are. This thread in particular was certainly wrong.Thing is, I’m not sure people are unhappy about them winning. And most people who have been critical of this core are not actually wrong.
lmaoHonestly, once Dubas took over and paid these guys big money. The Kadri trade and Tavares signing was the final nail
two of the 'spectacular failures' most cited in this thread are:Some are. And most are. This thread in particular was certainly wrong.
You must lead a sad life to go through such effort. Still don’t like the Kadri trade or the Tavares signing. I will gladly eat anything if they make the ECF or further, but this is only 1 round in 7 years…lmao
You know they are going to the cup. You just are ... scared.... to believe but.... you said ECF... like... you said the words.. You believe. You must lead a sad life to go through such effort. Well my playoff hockey pool says otherwise. I liked the moves by Dubas at the deadline, finally added the types of players they needed. Felt like they had turned a corner, and feel like they can make a run this year. You know they are going to the cup. Less Go!
(Also don't look at my posts in this thread)
I think it's impressive when it happens ~5 years after the fatal blow against the team ever having a chance to truly compete was struck by a huge UFA overpay, especially when that fatal blow, the final nail in the coffin really, was followed like 6mos later by a huge RFA overpay, and then another huge RFA overpay, and then another huge RFA overpay, all of these contracts handed out by a rookie GM who was too green and soy-infused to understand that he could have re-signed the best forwards the team has ever drafted for 25-35% less cap hit if he bothered to look up what David Pastrnak signed for in 2017.
My apologies if you already walked this statement back and I missed it.I believed then as I do to this day that you can't invest that much cap in so few players to be Cup competitive.
correctPastrnak had 0 bearing on what Marner and Matthews got. He was not in any way a comparable for them.
