Honestly I'd call them up and see what it takes Matthews and a few smaller pieces?

I'm pretty sure McD wants to win a cup before his career is over.Wouldn't surprise me to see McDavid go to a team down south where hockey isn't the primary sport and a contender.
I'm pretty sure McD would be on the first outbound plane to TOHonestly I'd call them up and see what it takes Matthews and a few smaller pieces?

All Leafs players are on the table including Matthews and Marner.
Let's go.....
Most likely, and the kid seems like the loyal type, but you never know what conversations take place behind closed doorsA trade demand by him, that's what it would take IMO
I have no problem if it's moved thereThis could be a real entertaining thread on the Trade Rumor forum
This is the first thread I've ever started.I dare you to post this on the trade forum. I'll even supply a one click link.
Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk
It wouldn't surprise me either.Wouldn't surprise me to see McDavid go to a team down south where hockey isn't the primary sport and a contender.
So, are you saying that Toronto is his best bet to reach his goal to win a Cup .....???I'm pretty sure McD wants to win a cup before his career is over.
If he managed to bring the cup back to TO this guy would be the biggest legend in the history of all sports
Any tax advantages he receives playing down south would be dwarfed by the endorsements he would receive by playing in TOIt wouldn't surprise me either.
If he has the competitive fire in his belly and wants a Stanley Cup, I'd think he'll consider other alternatives. The tax situation would also be something he and most people would look at as well.
This is a fantasy thread I'd think.
Super stars in the U.S. don't get endorsements?Any tax advantages he receives playing down south would be dwarfed by the endorsements he would receive by playing in TO

Remember McDavids excitment when Edmonton won the draft lottery

lol, obviously not his best bet by a country mile. So, are you saying that Toronto is his best bet to reach his goal to win a Cup .....???
Not happening...
But if they wanted to try, you'd start with with the following.
To Toronto
Connor McDavid
To Edmonton
Auston Matthews
Mitch Marner
Rasmus Sandin
Rodion Amirov or Nick Robertson
2022 1st round pick
If would basically have to be a franchising changing asset haul for Edmonton to give up on him right now, IMO. Even then, they say no 99% of thr time because he's best player of his generation by a considerable margin and he's just entering his prime.
I get it, but that's why I said this is a fantasy thread.lol, obviously not his best bet by a country mile.
But think about it. Imagine if he can pull off what Kawhi did for the Raptors. He became an overnight legend in Toronto
Well, one circumstance would be the same for both McDavid & Matthews, namely that their current team isn't a playoff performer.Nah - I think that's more Mathews route .
If there was ever a time to twist McDavid‘s arm it’s right now. No one would blame him for wanting out of Edmonton, probably too nice of a guy to demand a trade
He messed up extending for 8 years and not 5.
Careful if you go on the main board with this one.................The Oilers fans may not like this.......All Leafs players are on the table including Matthews and Marner.
Let's go.....
