Honestly I'd call them up and see what it takes Matthews and a few smaller pieces?
2 stars that could use a change of scenery

Here’s a thought McJesus and saviour Matthews both to Arizona immediately making the Oi and Leafs better.

Wouldn't surprise me to see McDavid go to a team down south where hockey isn't the primary sport and a contender.
It wouldn't surprise me either.

If he has the competitive fire in his belly and wants a Stanley Cup, I'd think he'll consider other alternatives. The tax situation would also be something he and most people would look at as well.

This is a fantasy thread I'd think.

Any tax advantages he receives playing down south would be dwarfed by the endorsements he would receive by playing in TO

Super stars in the U.S. don't get endorsements?

And, did you answer the question about Toronto being McDavids best chance at winning a Cup?

This is a fantasy thread.

Remember McDavids excitment when Edmonton won the draft lottery

Where's "E-d-m-o-n-t-o-n ? "

So, are you saying that Toronto is his best bet to reach his goal to win a Cup .....???
lol, obviously not his best bet by a country mile.

But think about it. Imagine if he can pull off what Kawhi did for the Raptors. He became an overnight legend in Toronto

Not happening...

But if they wanted to try, you'd start with with the following.

To Toronto
Connor McDavid

To Edmonton
Auston Matthews
Mitch Marner
Rasmus Sandin
Rodion Amirov or Nick Robertson
2022 1st round pick

If would basically have to be a franchising changing asset haul for Edmonton to give up on him right now, IMO. Even then, they say no 99% of thr time because he's best player of his generation by a considerable margin and he's just entering his prime.

Uhhhh no lol that’s a HUGE overpayment maybe Matthews and Marner

If there was ever a time to twist McDavid‘s arm it’s right now. No one would blame him for wanting out of Edmonton, probably too nice of a guy to demand a trade

He messed up extending for 8 years and not 5.
