Lol what was the sweetener. So we take on 6mil ltir salary which we pay and you get a 30 goal scoring healthy tarasenko. No thanks hard pass

So you expose your 30 goal scorer for nothing and expect to get a positive return when he is not picked by a team with maximum cap ......again for nothing.....Delusional

Sounds like blues fans want to keep tarasenko, which is fair enough. Right now the situation with respect to his trade value with no retention seems clear enough, but things change quickly.

Yes full of delusion. Let's see what happens tonight and by Sunday. I bet if army doesn't get what he wants tarasenko will be a blue.

I think there was defiantly reasons.
1) there is a deal that is going on that we don't know about.
2) army didn't get the return he wanted so he decided to see if Kraken wanted him.
3) army wasn't getting offers he liked knew Seattle didn't want him so he did it to show tarsenko that there isn't interest and that he will be reporting to the blues for training camp. Kind of put him in his place.

There could be several other reasons that we just don't know. We don't even know if these leaked picks are legit. You all are assuming a lot.

I still think Montreal is a good fit with the cap space and need for scoring. I don't think the price should be high given the injury concerns and contract, though.

In fairness, those two things don't necessarily correlate. He could have had positive trade value, but the trade value was below the worth of Vince Dunn. What if the best offer on the table was a second + fifth rounder? If something like that happens, they could have easily thought why not expose Tarasenko and see if they could get Seattle to bite on taking Tarasenko instead. Tarasenko over Dunn isn't a no brainer either...it's very reasonable to still take Dunn over Tarasenko for Seattle.

There was talk between blues and habs fans that a tarasenko drouin swap could be done, maybe with montreal adding a 1st or 2nd. It seems according to renaud lavoie that drouin does not want out of montreal. he wants to return to habs. Im actually excited that this is his attitude and im in a minority here but i'll welcome JD back with open arms if he wants to say a big f*** you to his detractors, but I still want tarasenko so is there another trade that can be worked out? and is there any posibility of slight salary retention. like 1 or 2 mill?

Sure he is... you obviously don't watch the Flyers
Been watching the Flyers since the 70's my friend. Lived 3 blocks from the Spectrum. Voracek (and a few other clowns) are the reason I no longer support the team. Like I said, the most overrated forward in the league -- and BY FAR the most overrated Flyer in history. Giroux is a close second.

The Blues retain and pay an asset to get Tarasenko off the cap. He totally controls where he goes and that kills whatever value he has

With his no trade and contract, trading him at the deadline would be a nightmare
Well like I said if he bounces back his value will only go up and his contract won't look so bad. Besides that he asked for a trade so his trade list won't be too limited.

If the Blues struggle to find a suitor is their a chance they take back a bad contract with a year expiring and/or retain on Tarasenko?

I'm thinking like

Van - Erikson
Fla - Stralman
Nj - Subban
Det - Neilson/Dekeyser
Car - Neidereitter
Ari - Kessel
Pit - Carter/Malkin(can you imagine lol)
