The guy said he has no value. That's pure bullshit. Even in your response he has some very just not the value I or others perceive. To say he has no value or negative value is a pure bullshit.

.5 PPG is not good for his contract. Tank at his current contract is about worth Tyler Johnson. Too much injury history.

If he goes back to where he was before then sure he has moderate positive value, but not a ton as he is still expensive.

Even with say 50% retained he still isn't worth much. Probably around a mid round pick or an okay prospect?

The guy has been basically out for 2 years and when he came back he was a .5 ppg player.

I think the Bolts should try to get him with 75% retained (via STL and SEA) and with that give up a prospect and say a 3rd rounder.

Lol counting your chickens before they are hatched I see.
They're hatched. It's time to count them. You'll potentially get guys like JVR, Voracek, Duchene, Johansson ect. offered. No one is giving a pick and prospect.

I never said it was. I used that number in context with him returning to hockey for the first time in almost two years. So yeah

No sir. The expansion draft hasn't happened. The entry life hasn't happened. So we don't know yet. They just said now on nhl live teams are still heavily interested. So no they are not hatched.

Does NJ make sense?

Yes and no. All about cost. You won't find many Devils fans who get upset about acquiring him, but nobody wants to shell out a ton to get him, including the Islanders first rounder. His timeline obviously doesn't fit in with the rest of the team, and he's likely going to be a 2 year player (not sure that we would re-sign him heading into his age 32 season in 2 years), but he could theoretically give a huge boost to the younger guys and start to help to develop some winning and competitive team performance immediately, which may be nice for the young guys. We can also take on the full contract without any concerns whatsoever.

Teams are interested, but he still isn't worth much. For all intents and purposes you have to give him away.

That being said if you keep him and he gets up to .8-.9 PPG, and then you retain, then at TDL you can probably net a 1st.

Right now he has no value beyond a late rounder.

How come I'm seeing little chickens running all over the place then? Trade request, disappointing results recently and huge injury concerns. He was worth a crap ton 3 years ago. Now he's not. It happens. Look at Monahan. 3 years ago he was a big, PPG, 35 goal center who could win draws. Now we'd be lucky to even get a draft pick for him. Tarasenko is older, more expensive and more injured.

So your saying he hits 25 goals is almost ppg, shows he is healthy no issues and has 1.5 years left he is still only worth a 1st with retention.... so he has less value then an average rental....lol

Lol...if he was worth atleast a 1st , Seatle would have taken and flipped him. The Nhl network guys just said that Tarasenko has little value and wont return much.

Lol you are comparing Monahan to tank. Ok so a guy who has only hit 30 three times typing out at 34 not 35 is better than tank who has 37 40 39 33 33 until he was injured. Has 35 goals in 78 playoff games to Monahans 10 in 30.

Lol one of these is unlike the other. Also with tarasenkos injured seasons included he has played 82% of all games. He is healthy and I have no doubt in my mind he will get at least 25 30 goals.

Monahan was awful last teo years and he wasn't even really injured. So not sure why you chose to compare these.two.

We don't know what happened do we. We should know by 7pm maybee they are getting other assets for retaining tarasenkos salary for a three way trade like has been reported for nyi and phi. So we are not there yet are we. So far all we know is what has been leaked. We don't even truly know if this is actually true. Lol

Not a fan of either team, but:

If he waives for Van, maybe LE plus OJ for Tarasenko. They get a solid NHL ready(showed great in his games last season) and we accept the risk that he will infact come back healthy and can play. LE as we can't add 7.5 unless he goes the other way.

And people in hell want ice water.

In a flat cap world, it's hard to move expensive deals with multiple years left. Especially when a guy is coming off of 3 shoulder surgeries.

They have teams who are willing to do it. My guess is that those deals are giving up basically nothing in return and Armstrong won't accept that. Eventually, he'll cave, or he won't and Tarasenko will stay there. But teams have expressed interest in taking the full hit and still are inquiring about him, including the Devils (per Rutherford)
