Nylanders contract is a steal. Saying that marner is worth 40% more than him and 20 percent more than Rantanen is a f***ing travesty

People gave Babcock a lot of crap, but its clear that not everything was his fault. Dubas has to go, he's cares too much about looking good with his hires than winning games with how he built this squad and staff. He's had 2 seasons now and , while I gave him leeway over the bubble loss, this is just too much. You can't beat the worst playoff team? A team that wouldn't make the playoffs in a regular year no less. That's pathetic and that also falls on Keefe, who needs to go as well. The Leafs should not be anyone's first team, its never worked out and these 2 proved it again. Dubas and the Leafs dominated the weakest division in hockey and he made very similar mistakes that Babcock did. Not breaking up Marner and Matthews when it simply wasn't working is the same crap Babcock pulled when people criticized him for playing Hyman on the top line. People went at Babcock for not playing Marner and Matthews together, well, you got your answer as to why he didn't. Fire Dubas, fire Keefe and unfortunately trade Marner because he's been absent for the past couple years and he's making too much money not to show up.

I'm not sure what to do with this team honestly. Do you fire the coach who cost us a winable game 6? Do you trade Matthews or Marner who seem to be playoff chokers? Do you gut the team outside of the big 4? Can you trade Willie considering he was essentially our only forward who showed up from a scoring perspective? We have almost zero draft picks over the next 2 years. 6 picks over the next 2 years left. We are going to lose someone on defence to the expansion draft. Impact UFA's are grossly over priced, we have no cap space.
The only decision that makes sense to me is to make some really difficult and unpopular decisions, that means some fan favorite players might have to go.

1.) dubas? He has been at the helm for 3 first round exits. He gave up a ton of capital for players to go out early. But he also addressed every need and built a solid team..... is he gone?
2.) keefe? Only 2 years in. But back to back game 7 losses and chokes is not good enough. I could see it being him. Definitely if dubas goes. If

Just a coaching change and shuffling around bottom 6 pieces won't do anymore. About Gallant, didn't he clash with the analytics dept in Vegas? Might mean that Dubie won't hire him, unless Dubas himself gets fired
I think you have to fire Keefe. Not because he’s a bad coach. But he’s not the right coach for this group. This team needs a Babcock type coach that doesn’t cross the line. But isn’t afraid to hold his players accountable. Bring in Bruce Boudreau

Boudreau or Gallant would both be great options for coach. I think Keefe did well but you maybe need a hard liner / more experienced guy for the team to take it to the next level.
who cares he’s a better coach than keefe. I don’t care about the game 7 losses stat. That’s not why I want keefe fired. I want keefe fired because he coddles the players.

What are the repercussion with Dubas? Show up late, don’t start on time, same excuses.
The core needs to be reworked. Dubas is too close to do it. To emotionally invested in the signings as proof of we can and we will.
It’s not a good idea to sink half your cap in a few, we said that. It needs to change. You need to afford more mid level support and a different mentality of not constant failure.

Nylander and spezza were imo the best forwards. Watching Campbell exit interview was brutal, he really blamed himself. This guy did everything we asked and more. The fact that we lost a series while jack posted a ga of 1.81 and a sv%932 just screems this is on the forwards.

Next year training camp every single position should be open contract or not...except Campbell, Matthews, Brodie, JT, Willy and Spezza
Also if you don’t bleed blue and white you can probably find your way off this team...especially if you prefer to bleed green (you’re and NHLer you’re going to get paid handsomely regardless)

Marner has to go. If hes still around next year it will just be the same song and dance. You need to send a message to the team that this isn't acceptable anymore. Dubas has tried to play nice to his players, but he really needs to show that he can be cutthroat and ruthless as that is needed sometimes in this business.
Also please stop signing useless veterans and forcing them into the lineup. Thornton and Simmonds bring barely anything on the ice. We had like 0 depth scoring in the playoffs.

Tavares 11 million. NMC. Goal scorer. Can ask to waive but unlikely
Nylander 6.9 million. Might not be to everyone’s taste but scores goals. Against Boston, Columbus, Montreal.

Need to be able to afford Oshie/Toffoli types.
Decisions on Rielly depending on dollars.
