A top-6 LW and a bottom 6 C. No all in moves because you need still balance the need for future currency if they don't win it all.

Going big 'all in' guarantees nothing but a shorter path to an all out rebuild.

The top 6 LW I want to see at the TDL is Matthew Knies. Beyond that, move Kerfoot and / or Engvall to get us some size in the bottom 6.

If if if if,,,,,, look, this is as good a team as we are going to have.
If you don't go in now, then you have blown the best chance to go for a cup.
Taylor Hall certainly helped Boston when they picked him up, I REALLY wanted the leafs to get him instead of that dud foligno. Chiarot is a baaaaad player, and florida had other issues.
Eller is no improvement over what we have.
You can keep all our pretty toys like Knies and never win a cup, or go all in.
I would go all in this year.
And all the Knies is untouchable talk makes me laugh. I want a cup.

And leafs can make absolutly no move and still have as much chance of winning cup

Get a big name at trade deadline dont guarante player find chemistry with team system and his teammate enought fast to be at 100% come playoff time. Most of the time is reason #1 why big name trade dont pay off

Hall 1st playoff impact in scoring sheet was praticly the same than nick ritchie or craig smith. Hall trade pay off because bruins had cap space to resign it long term

A LW for the 2 line. A guy like Logan Couture would be perfect.

A 3rd line forward with sandpaper and bite.

I'm pretty happy and surprised with the D but there isn't a team anywhere that couldn't use more depth. I'm not into selling the farm for Chychrun, just somebody who can be competent if they need to play as high as the 2nd pair for short stretches, also the type of defenceman who likes clearing the crease a guy who's a lot like Gio.

I wouldn't mind Dubas trading our 1st this year for a player like Ryan O'Reilly, Kane, or someone else of your liking, if Dubas could bring them back next year(like the Muzzin trade). Muzzin could miss next season, so there is space to resign any player Dubas trades for this season.

We must not forget history, full stop.

FORGET ABOUT WHAT HAS HAPPENED EARLY THIS SEASON!!!!

In the playoffs, last three years, what have we been missing?
1) Tough physical D-man in top 4
2) tough physical winger in top 6
3) G that can win a series

That's what we need . . . I think we can forget about #3 for NOW . . . and concentrate on #1 and #2
Yes

Exactly why Chychrun really isn't the guy he's definitely a top 4 guy, but he's not the kind of guy forwards are wary of around the net.

Lmao
Great one …..
Sharp as a marble from dusk till dawn each day and every day🤭

If Liljegren and Sandin continue to play as well or even better than they have now getting near the trade deadline then why not just stick with the group we have? Trust them to get the job done along with the vets you have surrounding them.

Also assuming all our injured Dmen come back healthy soon with the exception of Muzzin who's questionable, where would you even play them all let alone adding another Dman to all the guys we have?

Rielly-Brodie
Gio-Holl
Sandin-Liljegren

With Benn, Timmins and Mete in reserve. You'd have to move out one or two guys to fit another Dman. I'm still in favor of trading Rielly, but seeing that will likely never happen then unless things drastically change I'm fine with the Dmen that we have now especially if Timmins continues to stay healthy and keeps playing well then maybe he's the Dman that can come in if someone starts playing bad or maybe he plays well enough to replace Holl as a regular. Guess we'll see as the season progresses what will happen.
So you feel Gio can play every other night in the playoffs, when the intensity level ramps up, especially in front of the net? And I like the way Holl has been playing, but I just don’t trust him in the top 4, especially in the playoffs.

No move and as much chance? So all the GM's bolstering rosters for playoff runs are idiots? That is your view?
Well, we are clearly never going to come close to agreeing on anything.
Good luck with your views.

Making smart move over flashy move

Panthers made flashy move and now their prospect pool will be thin for the next 3-4 year...

Team like tampa or colorado made smart move

Colorado upgrade their d and not overpay manson. They get lehkonen for long term

Tampa trade to get hagel long term, pay only a 4th for paul...

Thats the difference between smart GM and a desesperate one

Same. I would like upgrades to the size and physicality in the top-6, and although Knies is a banger, I wouldn't be expecting him to bring that element yet. But with his size and hands, he can be a real puck retrieval force

As Timmins gets more comfortable playing more NHL minutes and getting back into the groove of things, if he can stay healthy and continue to improve and show he's ready then why not give him more minutes and play Gio less? Let him take on less of a workload during the season and maybe even give him some games off if need be.

When Rielly gets back you can definitely lower Gio's minutes when you have Rielly, Brodie, Liljegren, Sandin and Holl. Then when Benn and Mete get back you can have different guys playing the bottom 6 different nights between those two, Timmins and Gio.

The point is you can give Gio less of a workload during the regular season and let him play more when it matters most in the playoffs. As others have mentioned maybe at this time it makes more sense to get another forward if you want before going out and getting another Dman.

A gritty, scoring, top 6 winger who can extend plays (Bertuzzi/Meier) would be nice but that could also be Knies pretty soon.

Maybe a two-way centre for the third line (Teows/O'Rielly/Horvat)?

A vet defenseman who can play in the top 4 in case of injury or under performance (Gavrikov/Jensen/Orlov)?

Top priority would be a LW to play with JT/Marner. That line is great anyways, but everything gets harder in the playoffs, and I think a legit top 6 LW would make them much harder to handle.

My #2 choice would be a big, strong, physical, 2-way dman, who can anchor a 2nd pairing. Basically a Muzzin replacement, if Muzzin himself doesn’t return. That will cost a lot, though, and our D is pretty good even without Muzz (or a replacement), which makes me less bullish on this move:

Rielly - Brodie
Gio - Holl
Sandin - Lily
Extras: Benn, Mete, Timmins

Kane,RoR,Bertuzzi,Meier one of them would be nice but do not trade knies everything else should be available

If rental: Eller/Acciari etc, maybe Monahan if he's cheap. Prospect+3rd type trades.

If our 1st is in play: I want us to swing for the McDonagh type big swing. 2023 1st, 2024 2nd (cond 1st if we win either year, 2x non Knies prospects for a high end forward of need (heavy top 6 LW or C with at least two years of cost control

Needs more Timo Meier level players coming our way if MLSE are going to let Dubas and underlings mortgage our future. I suggested Kane in the off season based off based Seravelli reports and Kane made statements that I cannot repeat for religious purposes.

I like the idea of moving Muzzin and sweetener for a stud dman too but it's early.

All-in move is Kane.

But they need a proven forward to add to their scoring depth. Someone that knows how to put up points in the playoffs.

This team can't be a serious contender until they address this hole at 2nd line LW. It's not Robertson, and it most definitely is not this clown.

Bunting stirring it up. Lol.

Fan of the month. Successfully finding ways to complain daily.
I'm happy with the team, but I am not happy with Malgin. Weakness like that is why we can't seem to take the next step and show up in game 7s.

Feel free to wipe your tears, mute me, and take a lap.
