Wild have 21 and I wouldn't trade it for that

I would do 28 for that for sure. Leafs are a little prospect/pick bare and the dropoff between 25-45 isn't that much

Honestly, I'd probably do something like 41+42+ a lower pick than 43 if I had to beat out any teams slightly above me that were also interested

Looks like SJ won that trade by a mile, too.
I thought it was a huge mistake at the time too, so easy to fall in love with prospects/your board and think you got it all figured out. With that said I wouldn't have taken Geekie and the value in terms of draft capital I think is pretty fair and kind of sets the market.

I feel like it would be in the 20s. At that point you are down to the tier where players are kind of "blending together" and some team might take multiple kicks at the can.

But I wouldn't make that trade from the perspective of the team with the 40s picks. Just hold onto them. You'll get 2 players you have ranked in the 1st round. Why trade up.

I'm not a draft guru

It depends on the quality of players 35-50. If those players have low first high 2nd grades then someone in the mid 20d might vote. You are not getting s top 20 pick.

There could be a scenario where a team might have 2 1sts. The use an earlier one but they might have some trades lined up around moving a 2,nd. They might change a 2st for 3 2nds then trade 2 of them in ondeals

I think #14-#17.

That's the typical value, and this year's draft isn't that different in depth.

It was almost a decade ago now…but Tim Murray couldn’t get anyone to trade down for picks 31, 44 and 49 in 2014.

The NHL is still way behind the curve on the value of picks. Given his trade history Murray was surely attempting to give up way more than he was getting. Teams will throw a first rounder during the season for a bum on an expiring contract….but won’t want three prospects at pretty much the same level for one at the draft.

Little early to declare anything.
I mean yes of course it is too early to truly know but based pick value charts I've seen San Jose did well and in terms of the players selected with their picks after their D1 seasons I would say Bystedt and Geekie seem to be similarly valued prospects and Lund and Havelid are nice prospects too.
