Graves sucks, Smith sucks. I think most people know that to an extent.

But Hamilton isn’t getting nearly enough heat.

He’s looking closer to Subban than a 9M defensmen. Might be one of the most overrated/overpaid players I’ve seen and it’s pissing me off because I was skeptical of signing him in the first place and then warmed up to it with the hype. Doesn’t seem to have a top pair skillset whatsoever.

Only one game in so hopefully he can turn it around but I’m having a hard time seeing it.
I’m sure if the team starts doing a lot better and spending lots of time in the ozone all his numbers will start looking great as he fires everything on net but I want to see him controlling the play when it matters especially in games where we might be struggling or can’t get anything going.

I said it last season and was told Hamilton is fine and it was because of his jaw that he looked slow, and wasn’t providing nearly enough to match his contract. It’s ok though he doesn’t really cool stuff on our social media pages.

Hamilton better shape up, I said in the summer he’s not a top20 D and got many angry responses, I still stand by it.

He’s super soft for his size. That’s always been the knock on him. His intensity is not very high
He’s soft, he’s an average skater at best, doesn’t have good puck skills, and he isn’t a good defender.

Basically a tall defensmen who can move the puck pretty well most of the time and has a heavy shot that he loves to use from everywhere.

I am not a Hamilton fan... as far as a number 1 defenseman is concerned ... I didn't think he was terrible tonight i know he puts up points etc. but i just don't like his game that much....much the same way i didn't like taylor hall's game... good players... but not my type.. and if you are a true number 1 defenseman why have you been on 5 teams?

I was told the same. Had many debates about whether his jaw surgery should’ve been affecting him for so long.

Seriously... what you are saying is unreasonable.

If you give a player the puck in front of the net with a pass coming from out of nowhere they will score on Hasek, Roy, Brodeur... anyone ...that is just a difficult save...and what you are asking is unreasonable.
We are talking about the rebound right? Because who gave that player the puck? Should the guy have been wide open, absolutely not, should the goalie have better rebound control then to bounce it right to the guy standing in front, absolutely.

I'm not picking a side here and ignoring the other like 75% of the people screaming nonsense seem to right now. The goalie sucked and the D allowed him plenty of opportunities to show it.

Please, keep back your avatar. Blackwood isn`t good and make our life painful, but we still Devils fans, Blackwood will not play most of the games of the season, and I think he will not sign new deal with us. And you should save your personality. Hating Blackwood is the only small part of it.

With all respect, your Guadana.
I was never going to leave it up long term, but I need to cool down before I switch back.

I really have a sandy vagina over this. Especially after I complained all afternoon about him starting and he goes out and lays a gigantic pile of eggs.

Back to Hughes:

He setup smith x2, Mercer x2 (I believe the slot pass with the goalie pulled was him), Sharangovich on the drop pass, and he himself had the partial breakaway he didn’t tuck five hole and 2-on-1 he shot over the net. The chances were there. He should have two points tonight.

My only gripe with Jack is his decision making in close, he needs to be more selfish

I have a theory Hamilton is 50% of our 2 on 1s. He gets caught very low in the offensive zone frequently. Just not a quick skater

Actually I am taking the third goal apparently.

I really thought it was the second but I'm I'm 9 beers, 3 whiskey's deep.

I understand. Despite the fact that, as I believe, most of it lies on our forwards, they did not take advantage of some good opportunities, it is frankly frustrating to see the obvious difference between goalies. And Hart wasn`t spectacular goalie.

I trully believe Vanecek can help only by changing the script.

Same goes for sacking Ruff. Get rid, guy is an absolute dinosaur.

We hired Brunette, let him take over. The amount of leeway that Lindy Fluff has had over the last few years is insane to me.

He was hired as a "steadying presence who can develop youth". Great, they're developed. Now we need a modern coach with recent history of success. He's right there on the bench Fitz.

For all of Nico Daws flaws and rawness last year, I can't remember him letting in goals as frequently before the shots started racking up.

Don't get me wrong, he had his more than fair share of stinkers, especially after we kept throwing him in there every night, But the amount of times he's allowing goals on one of the first 5 shots and then 2 goals when he's barely faced more than 10, it's insanity at this point.

Yeah, Gillies allowed goals early on too, but he's no-count and we all know it. Gillies is not, has never been and never will be NHL caliber, but the odds of Blackwood being NHL caliber are really getting smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller.

I don't think he'll be out of the league in two years like when I said that about Keith Kinkaid, because he's the kind of goalie that teams will keep giving chances to, because he was once a good prospect, he was showing promise early on and you see guys like that get signed after many consecutive poor years.

I just think that he just may not be NHL caliber though.

Him and Graves both have cement in their skates, thankfully Nemec and Hughes are a year away
Thank god. With how much we’re paying him I wish we could get rid of Hamilton this off-season.

Would rather dump him and pay Severson 7m and run him with Marino and Nemec next season than lose Severson because of how much we’re paying Dougie.

There’s a reason Severson continuously has our highest TOI even with a big 9m defensmen there. And Severson isn’t even a defensive guy. Says a lot about Hamilton. Marino should’ve played more than him tonight too.

Just a reminder that the ONLY reason ruff is still here is because Fitz used to play under him and they’re friends

If that really is true, then Fitz is a moron. Look at what happened to your mentor bud, hanging on to a dead coach got him the sack.

It's like Fitz has made so much effort to make a beautiful sandwich, but used liquid shit instead of butter on the bread.
