Same goes for sacking Ruff. Get rid, guy is an absolute dinosaur.

We hired Brunette, let him take over. The amount of leeway that Lindy Fluff has had over the last few years is insane to me.

He was hired as a "steadying presence who can develop youth". Great, they're developed. Now we need a modern coach with recent history of success. He's right there on the bench Fitz.
I don't think it'll be long now.

If he's still here by Christmas, then we have at the worst a very respectable record and we're at the very least on the bubble.

I wouldn't bet on this, but I could honestly see a winless 5 game start doing him in. All betting is back on after the hiring of Andrew Brunette.

I don't think we'll be winless in the first 5, but let's just say hypothetically we are, I would be more shocked if Ruff got a 6th or 7th game after 5-6 straight losses to open the season than I would be if he were fired.

I think we lost the first 6 or 7 of the 19-20 season. I went over the results the other night. Instead of firing Hynes, Shero sent Fitz to the bench, which was very bizarre. I don't think Fitz is sending anybody to the bench if something like that were to happen this year, other than maybe an assistant to replace Brunette's vacant opening.

If that really is true, then Fitz is a moron. Look at what happened to your mentor bud, hanging on to a dead coach got him the sack.

It's like Fitz has made so much effort to make a beautiful sandwich, but used liquid shit instead of butter on the bread.

I think there’s a quote out there after the season ended where Fitz said he only wants guys here who thinks like him and Ruff is that kind of guy

It’s pure nepotism but what do you expect with NHL management

Only a limey would suggest putting butter on a sandwich.

I said it last season and was told Hamilton is fine and it was because of his jaw that he looked slow, and wasn’t providing nearly enough to match his contract. It’s ok though he doesn’t really cool stuff on our social media pages.

Hamilton better shape up, I said in the summer he’s not a top20 D and got many angry responses, I still stand by it.
Pretty sure that you were told he looked slow because of his lower body injury last year (ankle I believe). COVID and his jaw certainly didn’t help in addition.

When healthy last season, Hamilton was looking real good. I don’t doubt that if healthy he can come back to form. I didn’t think he played badly at all tonight.

My only issue, the Panthers weren’t exactly a defensive stalwart. Brunette was let go for similar performances in the playoffs. They outplayed the Lightning and got swept.

Back to Hughes:

He setup smith x2, Mercer x2 (I believe the slot pass with the goalie pulled was him), Sharangovich on the drop pass, and he himself had the partial breakaway he didn’t tuck five hole and 2-on-1 he shot over the net. The chances were there. He should have two points tonight.
I'm highly annoyed that after successful trialling Holtz with Hughes over the preseason. The chemistry they started to develop together, that it was abandoned a few days before season opener.

That's bullshit. A reporter should of asked that question of Ruff.

Who knows if Holtz was on that line he could of buried one or both of Mercer chances provided by Hughes.
