Since we're in Philly I have to give a shout out to Pointing Man. To this day no one knows who he is but he bravely wore our colors in an extremely hostile playoff environment and was captured here celebrating a goal on camera. What a legend.

I've seen this picture a ton over the last 10 years and I never thought this until now, but I just now realized how much that guy looks like John Tortorella.

That's true .. besides for the stream quality which never seems to be good for me while watching hockey games, it'll be a nuisance switching between the app and the Yankees game. I don't have a convenient 'back' button to switch between cable and the smart tv apps.

Just peeped Vanecek's career stats against the Flyers

0-2-0 in 3 games with an .878% and 3.52 GAA.

Maybe, just maybe this was the decision behind Vanecek sitting for this one.

We should be able to hold that lineup off with Nico Daws, so Blackwood really has no excuse other than ''I suck and can't stop pucks'' if he isn't any good tonight.

I can't really say the same about Jon Gillies, but Gillies is not, has never been and never will be NHL caliber.

Just somewhat trying to rationalize and make sense of it using logic and reason.

I'm still skeptical that's the main reason why who is and isn't playing in goal tonight.

I will say this and this doesn't apply to cable subscribers who live in the region. It doesn't do anything to help them, but it has been a benefit to me and other out of market viewers.

The cost of NHL center ice the last two seasons has been significantly less than it was before ESPN got back into the game and started the streaming service and made 5-8 games exclusive to their channels only.

I swore I was paying $160 bucks a season for center ice, but it's been more like $70-ish these last two seasons. I'm wondering if a lot of that has to do with the fact that center ice no longer carries as many games as it used to, with those ESPN+ exclusive games that would have otherwise been on center ice.

Unfortunate that Hischier is still out for tonight, but I'm hoping we can still win against the Flyers without him.

Also, I'm looking forward to seeing how the new guys do. We've made some great additions over the summer through trades, UFA signings, and rookies being called up. Would love to see them making an impact from the first game.

Keith and Cory were also gonna prove us wrong.

But for real though, in all seriousness, I do give him a better chance of being salvageable than I did Cory after his two bad years, but only because one guy is 25 and the other guy was 32-33 years old by then. And I've said this over and over. There's a greater chance at redemption for him than Cory because of age.
