Wait, this was just an opportunity to take a pot shot, nevermind. Carry on.

Hehe, all joking aside, it was cold in there. I was drinking coffee instead of beer.

I don't understand why people keep bringing up the "core". Do you people not realize there isn't much OUTSIDE the core???!?!?!?!?!? :help: :shakehead  :banghead:

In the organization or on the main roster?

We can't change what happened before the rebirth , no matter how much we may want to or can point to mistakes the previous management made.

Well the one year extension pretty much indicates to me that a real evaluation will be made this season. Either at the end of the season or if things go south , before that.

I like Noel in many ways , but those aren't really related to coaching or in that I think he is an average let alone above average NHL coach. It is a business and a business decision will happen soon.

That Chevy got fully extended and Noel did not is both fair and telling imo .

Yup, I think we're very much in agreement.

The problem is, our core is 2nd and 3rd liners on other teams. Management just gave them all big contracts. So as mad as we all get, we have to realize that it's going to be a 8 year build not 3 or 4 or 5. I just hope people keep buying tickets and not get turned off.

This team really needed to not choke down the stretch those first 2 years in the easy Eastern Conference and make the playoffs in one of those two years, just to placate the people who really wanted playoffs. This team is simply not good enough to get anywhere near the playoffs in the Western Conference and will not be for years. As it stands Winnipeg went 15 years without NHL hockey and probably 25 without NHL playoff hockey.

Random aside: Highlight of the night for me was seeing dude outside with a Patrick Kane USA jersey and blonde mullet wig - actually looked quite a bit like him. Anyway, right as I walked past him, sure enough a cab pulls up. Talk about perfect timing to rib him a little.

Damn company just left, hint if your a guest in someone's home, after the game get the hell home, Sip needs to post on HFBoards!

My take:

Schief looking worse every game, when Slater returns Shief is all but guaranteed a spot on the rock, he may be there a few years!

Redmond the AHL needs you, since you play like an AHL D man you might as well play there, your bud Clitsome looked real bad tonight, he can join you.

LLW okay tonight, Tangradi and Frolik okay. Thought Seto was brutal and Joki had a pretty bad game overall. Kane looked again like a guy that FAILED hockey school.

End of rant.

Our teams lack of depth is killing us. Same story. Obviously we have many issues. But the fact that Little, Ladd, Wheeler, Buff are the only ones night in night out I feel will show up and produce is horrible. Kane, Seto, Scheif, Wheeler ( as far as just goals go) are killing us in these 1-2 goal close games. Disappointing, and at the same time, Little and Ladd likely the 2 most underrated forwards in the game. Espically Little.

What concerns me about Kane is he doesn't even look good. Its one thing to not score, but still have great chances and look good. He looks terrible, and is having 0 real scoring chances that you see LLW get. Not playing in the wide open east, where guys arn't aware of your speed anymore Evander. And unfortunately his hands and vision are well below a top 6 player.

When Kane was scoring early in the season he was also crash and banging we've seen NONE of this in the past dozen games.:shakehead

There isn't much outside of the core ? does that mean you are including prospects? or only professional players? Pretty direct.

I'm beginning to like Noel's systems and player usage less and less. I think this team has more talent than their record shows.

Here's my positive spin:

Looking at the upcoming schedule, I think the Jets will go 11-4 over the next 15.

Here's my negative: with the pace of the West, even that won't be enough.

Not sure if anyone noticed but Boston who is first in the Eastern Conference wouldn't make the playoffs in the west :help: Thats how sick it is right now in the west. They will come back some, but it is rediculous atm

I'll say I'd rather them go 4-11 so that they compete for a top 5 pick
