We'll be back next year. Flames win 3 - 1

Seriously don't give a **** about this distinction...which basically means the team won the Cup the previous year.

I'll take this every ****ing other year, if it means winning Cups.

Better to be a team with multiple Cups and then miss the playoffs than to be a team with no Cups.

I just hope that this stinging loss and the unacceptable result of the 2014-15 season motivates this group to put together a season where they don't struggle to squeak by and string together another lengthy playoff run.

We know what this team is capable of and saw that in the previous three seasons when they turned it on. We only saw a few glimpses of that this season.

Time to recharge, reflect, rethink and reset some things with this roster. There are some holes that need to be filled, like who will be playing behind Kopitar and Carter and who can play on the top line since Brown can't cut it anymore.

What are our chances of landing the #2 or #3 pick?

The draft lottery this year determines who picks first, and there's a two-percent chance of that happening.

It's next year and thereafter when the top three picks will be determined via lottery. Let's hope we don't have to think about that at the same time next year.

Isn't it impossible for us to draft at 2 and 3 already since they are decided by points?

Particularly since we don't have a pick next year.

One of my rules in life is ALWAYS go with the guarantee. Well, a won Cup is a guarantee so I take that eleven times out of ten.

Mayor thinks Stoll will be back on a cheap 1 year contract next season. Oh my...

What a relief. He won't be back!

What is there left for Stoll to add to the team next season? If he's brought back, it better be for less than $2M and as a 4th line C because they need a center who can give support to Kopitar and Carter.

I would be severely disillusioned if Stoll came back next year. He does nothing at this point. Just let him walk, Dean. Please.

Stoll's better be a healthy scratch for the majority of the season if he is resigned. Rather Shore get some more experience on the 4th line than him.

Pretty sure we kept him around for PK and faceoffs, but he hasn't been very good at either.

I think Shore showed more promise even without lighting up the score sheet. Won face-offs and was fairly responsible with the puck.

So true. It's funny how the biggest trolls are from teams who have yet to win one, or haven't won a cup since man walked on the moon.

I know it will probably make a lot of people buttflustered here, but I think Stoll is probably returning.

Stoll is basically Kings identity incarnate from a professionalism standpoint as well as the commitment he shows on the ice. If he takes a cheap 1-2 year contract, I think the Kings are going to almost certainly bring him back. Shore is going to be the other bottom 6 center, and then there's nobody ready next year either way. Weal won't play bottom 6 minutes, if they don't see him as a regular on wing, he's probably going to get Veyed.

Someday I hope the Blues are in a position where everyone fears us the way we all fear your team.

No doubt in my mind that a year from now, you guys will be back in the playoffs.

Stoll was re-signed after that 1st Cup, after he scored that series winner in OT. That was a different time. As much as he's been part of the fabric of this organization since 2008, if they brought him back, it would have to be for a lot less. There's no room to spare. I guess that might be Stoll's call.

I feel like they could probably trade Williams for a decent return at the draft. Perhaps we'd be able to pick up a 4th line center as a part of the return. There's always free agency as well if Stoll walks.

Vancouver, Anaheim, St. Louis, Rags, Coyotes (flip the standings around and they still wouldn't win, lmao).

Totally.
Van-0
Ana-1 , yet to even remotely come close again, missed the playoffs several times since. Same boat as Carolina and Tampa.
St Louis-Nope
Coyotes-ha ha ha ha

Not sure if it would've mattered, but the Kings had total possession with 2 min to go, yet Quick was still in net. They waited until 1:06 after they lost control to get the extra skater out there. They never got the puck back. There was no reason why he didn't pull him early, and I swear it sounds like you can hear Quick hitting his stick on the ice trying to get his attention. This is the 2nd or 3rd time we've seen Sutter do this with the exact same results.
