Seriously it's gonna be a very sad day when we lose Drew Doughty. As many has mentioned we won't get another Dman even close to Drew's level for a veeery long time. He is the best DMAN this franchise has ever had and we won't have one if he leaves for awhile. But time to retool our talent pool is pretty much at the bottom and it's time to get younger and faster.

John Stevens has been so badly outcoached by Gallant. We’re seeing the same stupefied stare and inability to make adjustments during the course of a game as we were used to seeing when Terry Murray was behind the bench.

Another failure to perform for more than 40 minutes. Goes to show you how much mental and instestinal fortitude this team has lost since 2014. They’re 1-7-0 in playoff games since then.

Blake needs to put his stamp on this team and rid the organization of dead weight.

Believe it or not, we could of had Gallant, he was still looking for work while we were looking for a coach. But the old boys club wanted to be the old boys club. It worked out in the case of Blake, who I think has done an amazing job, but Stevens has been abysmal. Despite making the playoffs, every advanced metric in existence shows how badly Stevens has screwed this team. He took one the best performing possession teams in history into a literal 50% corsi team. Doughty went from being the best possession player of all time to being a 52% for, at best. Kopitar is barely above water possession wise too.

Might not find one ever and that's something people will have to come to grips with. I know I'll be watching at least 40 games of whatever team he joins next.

Then again it's also unlikely we see a team as good as 2012-2014 again as well, so people will also have to reconcile that with their previous knowledge of the Kings--40 years of mostly failure, heh.

I agree, nice guy, seems very smart, wouldn't mind him as an assistant or elsewhere in the organization, but do not want Stevens as a head coach for one more minute.

TT, CARTER AND PEARSON SCRATCHED. (Carter had 3 or 4 chances to get the puck on the second goal and been awful and NOTHING like he was when he came back)

ENTER: AMADIO, BRODZINSKI and JARET ANDERSON-DOLAN. Consider LV is largely misfits and AHL players, we counter with our AHL players. Oh, and MacDermid up and replaces Fantenberg and F's UP Haula and a few others.

I was at this game, probably the most disappointing game I've ever seen live. I can't count how many missed calls there were; Vegas played incredibly dirty this game imo. I can't even put into words how disappointing the Kings have been.

It's not even that they played THAT badly in a vacuum; I just don't understand how so many players could be so bad. Our secondary scoring is abysmal, and it doesn't make any sense outside of just that Toffoli and Pearson have forgotten how to play hockey. They constantly lose board battles, get out hustled, and flub every scoring chance.

Phaneuf was garbage this game too, he's been exposed severely by Vegas. Martinez has forgotten how to exit the zone as well.

I've been saying all year that Stevens is not a good coach; whatever SYSTEM he's employed is absolute horse ****. Team can't control the puck and don't know where any of their players will be.

This game was only competitive because Doughty-Muzzin is the best defensive pairing in the series, and played like it.

Trade Martinez, Pearson, Toffoli, Carter, Doughty if he won't sign for a reasonable amount. I'm tired of hoping for anything, this team is done.

What upsets me the most is that this proves the most obnoxious posters on this board right. I hope you're happy, the Kings suck.

These guys got the coach they wanted. Cool for Kopitar, Brown and Doughty but this team isn't skilled enough to not have a defined system.

The really frustrating thing is that it never had to get to this point. It wasn’t as if they were an ancient team who went all in and traded their picks to win the cups. When they won the cup in 2014 the prospect pool was thin because of trades and poor drafting but they still had all their picks and could/should have been able to add young players who would have been contributing by now.

But then Dean Lombardi completely lost his mind and it’s going to cost us years to recover from it.

One thing I hate a ton is how either the players are good or the goaltending is. It's never together. Quick let in a huge soft goal vs Neal that broke the teams back.

I’m not really that upset either. I thought they’d get by Vegas but no way was this team beating SJ or Anaheim on the road in the next round.

What's sad is that I knew exactly what would happen as soon as they scored the 2nd goal. They'd fail to get a shot on net or mount any pressure. We've been watching the same team since 2014-15, with their inability to step on an opponents throat. They let Vegas hang on and allowed them to win this game.

My friend brought up a good point in that this team is starting to turn into the Red Wings, a team that rode on the success of the past for many years, got older, tried to stay afloat by bringing in older players at the cost of younger ones, and look at the position they've been in since.

Rob Blake is going to need to make some tough decisions this summer, and relieving John Stevens should be the easiest one, but sadly, him getting this team into the playoffs may have been enough to earn him one more shot.

I’m ok with Blake as of now. He seems to have found a potential first line player with his first draft pick, that’s one more than we drafted the previous decade. And he’s signed a couple of college FA’s who look like NHL regulars. I still would have cleaned house completely of anything Sutter/Lombardi but Blake has pulled his weight, Stevens not so much.
