wake up call narrative, my scenario:

1. muzzin will not play game 2, lak will be crushed, 0-2 for vegas
2. game 3 & 4: doughty and muzzin will be back, staples will become a cathedral flying through space, kings will somehow win game 3 & 4
3. game 5: best game of la kings this season and a huge win for a 3-2 lead
4. game 6: just finish it off.

I really didn't think he was going to be suspended. I'm sure this was a pretty easy decision to make considering it benefits Gary's new team. Carrier dishes out hits all game and then he can't handle it when Doughty gives him some back. It wasn't that bad, I don't care what anyone says. Not suspension worthy in the playoffs.

This series is over if Doughty if out on Friday and the Defense plays like they did last night. The again, I wouldn't expect any team to really do well without 3 of it's top 5 defensemen.

Martinez-Phaneuf
Fantenberg-Folin
Gravel-LaDue

Jesus Christ thats putrid.

Torres hit was mostly shoulder to head..it was like 20% shoulder and 80% head at the same nano second. Doughty's looks like clean shoulder to shoulder and Carrier's head was moving the direction towards where Doughty's shoulder was glancing off Carrier's shoulder. Seems like hits to the head should be specifically a hit to the head and not part of a follow through in which you could also
say DD had NO INTENT of going after Carrier's head....seeing Regher on the ice in that vid, makes me miss him. I was upset when I saw they gave up 2, #2's for him...but once I saw him play, changed my mind. Miss guys like Willie Mitchell, Regehr and Greene (not the Greene of the last 2 yrs)

I hate Vegas already, I figured it would take longer than one season.

Yep. Like Nashville. Talented, fast, tenacious team that should be easy to root for...but suddenly weak on their feet when faced with losing the puck, hiding behind refs at every opportunity while playing fake tough, whole organization and media crying to the high heavens when they're wronged. Completely unlikable and now that behavior has been enabled and sanctioned by the NHL. What other crying is gonna come out of that city for the rest of the series?

God, that Marchessault dive must've cleared 4 feet vertical.

Seriously just call up MacDermid at this point. If we're gonna be barricaded into our end, may as well make them pay. Our best d-man that wasn't Doughty last night was 35% corsi for (not counting fantenberg who was good with doughty and 0% without drew). I'm optimistic they'll rally given how they played tonight, but if we're going to make it a long series, take this opportunity to soften some guys up.

Iafallo has been AFK
maybe sit him for Andreoff, hes often a whipping boy here but he was actualy playing well a few weeks back when he was getting in the lineup, making offensive plays that ive never seen him make. Hes not really 'tough' but at least he will hit and will muck it up and be a pest. Bring in him and MacDermid and stir it up a bit.

Maybe since he's a welterweight he'll be able to coax one of the f***ing cowards like Miller or Marchessault to come out from behind a ref and line up face to face.

hahahahah i crack myself up, no Golden Knight is going to take any liberties without protection.

I know it sounds crazy, but I think the Doughty suspension may actually help the Kings. Let me play armchair sports psychologist.

For one, it shifts the pressure for game two from the Kings to the Knights. Vegas is expected to win now. Kings are expected to lose.

Secondly, this gives the Kings something to rally around. Especially if they feel they've been wronged. Don't be surprised if the Kings come out with extra energy and focus.

What happens if the Kings win tomorrow? They take away home ice advantage, and beat the Knights while being massively handicapped. It would be a MEGA momentum shift in the series, and could spur the Kings on to a series victory. So Vegas sort of has to win. Pressure on them.

While the Kings are rallying around this, subconsciously Vegas players know Doughty is out which should make the game "easier." Which team do you think is going to come out with more fire tomorrow?

Reminds of when Pronger got suspended in the cup finals. It put the Senators in a situation where they HAD to win. After they lost, the writing was on the wall.

The suspension is consistent with other similar hits the NHL has punished.

Yeah unfortunately that is the case and the reverse side image DPS released that I hadn’t seen before was pretty bad, that plus the injury probably pushed them towards suspension.

Phaneuf and Martinez will probably both play 30 minutes.

You know the McDavid/Hollywood conspiracies? This all sounds just like that. If the league was conspiring for a single team at advantageous times, I think the PA might make a larger stink about it. It's one thing with LTIR, players benefit there. The league wanting and making Vegas win screws whatever group of players is playing against them. Don't be Oilers fans.

Anyway, the dumbest part is that this happened against a 4th line guy. A suspension has to count. Doughty fell victim to his own trash talk.

Based on how inconsistent they were in the reg season, it's truly a miracle they snuck into the playoffs in the first place.

I don’t think I have ever seen such a bull**** suspension as this one . **** Carrier hope he has a concussion

As much as we don’t like the decision and are frustrated by it, let’s not go to the lengths of wishing an opposing player be injured.

There’s no need for that.
