Talk about not putting your rookie QB in a position for success…
This defense has always feasted on rookie QBs. Their O line is really bad, too. I want to see an ass whooping.Oh, that's going to be a problem.
For Pittsburgh. And for Pickett.
Yup, we opened up as big favorites... I imagine it'll get bigger once this is confirmed.Oh, that's going to be a problem.
For Pittsburgh. And for Pickett.
For all the talk of OBJ being a locker room cancer, DeSean is the one that I would say absolutely 100% no to. He literally got himself cut upon his request from the Rams because they weren't featuring him enough. And has a long history of demanding more targets and attention than his skill suggests he should. He's what everyone is afraid OBJ is.I think we should stand pat at WR unless Davis' injury is to the point where he should rest AND McKenzie is likely to miss some time.
Shakir and Hodgins should be OK enough to get by the Pittsburgh game if needed, and grab someone else off the street. Don't see the need for a permanent addition YET.
OBJ isn't an option as he's nowhere close to healthy. If we need a veteran slot guy -- TY Hilton would make a ton of sense if he's healthy. Willie Snead/Will Fuller/DeSean all make sense if we need a long-term deep threat.
Outside the box idea: Sign Jared Cook. Can play in-line or the slot. Could confuse defenses, even if he's not the best blocker.
But I think I stand pat at WR unless McKenzie is out for a bit.
Jesus Christ that coach is a monster.Oh, that's going to be a problem.
For Pittsburgh. And for Pickett.
Re: Pickett: Decisions like this are what happens when your thought process is putting a priority on winning at all costs, even in a rebuilding year, over proper development. Pickett looks like the best QB, so he goes in. Huzzah!
I don't get how this keeps happening
Pitt may have come along on the wrong week as I expect a fairly fast start and constant pressure.. The D line will be looking to hit incentives and some unusual blitzing and myriad of d schemes ahead kc w either Pitt qb , .the last two weeks have been watched and digested by the entire team .Please beat the Steelers last year sucked for me since all of my friends are Steeler fans.
With Watt not playing im not as worried as last year. I think they'll win it's just a matter of how much.Pitt may have come along on the wrong week as I expect a fairly fast start and constant pressure.. If we come out fast , I could see all the rook receivers get play w diggs decoy and cook and singktarary touching if successful.
I almost think that they didn't want to break out their blitz schemes until they faced KC but we should have more against Miami and worked beautifully against BaltimorePitt may have come along on the wrong week as I expect a fairly fast start and constant pressure.. Ugh once you get passed Rochester it's all Giants and Steelers fans. Looks like you're right in the thick. Charlie everywherePlease beat the Steelers last year sucked for me since all of my friends are Steeler fans.
I was a bit worried about Allen his rookie year until I saw an interview with John ELway who was also thrown in the fire his rookie year and struggled. He said he learned so much during his rookie year. He also had the mental toughness to battle through adversity and take those early woes as lessons learned.I mean, the Bills did that with Allen, they literally couldn't afford to send Peterman out again...sometimes you just got to let the kid get the reps and take the licks. It would be nice to wait for the ideal moment, but sometimes it just doesn't exist. Pickett's success isn't going to be determined by who his first start is against.
Wasn’t there someone who ran on the field with a pink smoke bomb in our game versus the Rams too? I know different stadiums but man they need to work on security.
I was listening to WGR on the way to work this morning and they said Pittsburgh is 29th in run stop win rate for their defense while the other 4 teams we’ve faced are top 9 with 3 of them being at the top. While anything can happen in the NFL (i.e. us losing to the Jags last year or the Chiefs losing to the Colts last week), I feel pretty confident going into this matchup, given our historical success in stopping rookie QBs. While Pittsburgh's defense is still tough, we won't have to deal with Watt being a one-man wrecking crew like he was for most of the game last year. It would be nice if the o-line could gel a bit more and develop a running game outside of Allen, but I'm not holding my breath.
