Post-Game Talk: We suck - Leafs lose 4-1

Wasn’t more evident than today. Carolina was extremely organized

Nope. Dennis Irwin. 7/10 guy. In 368 games for Man Utd., he never once played less than a 7/10. In hockey, you need half a dozen of those guys, regardless of their skillset. We have none (maybe Spezza).

Irwin was also one of the toughest players on and off the pitch. Him and Keane were just scary.

i mean babs didnt coach them correctly, now keefe isnt either? at a certain point it becomes more about the student than the material you know?

Leafs fans.... it doesn't matter what they do in this regular season, they just need to win in the playoffs.

Same Leafs fans... total meltdown seven games into the regular season, when things aren't going their way...
 
Leafs played better then the 2 previous games. Matthews recorded his 1st goal of the year. Those are a couple of positives to take away from this game.

All in all they didn't really test Freddy all the much forcing him to make tough saves on those 25 shots .. Campbell had to make some real tough saves or the game would have gotten away from the Leafs.

The best NHL are located in the USA and Carolina is one of those teams that works hard and are well coached and as such consistently competitive.
 
I'm I'm Shanahan I'm firing Dubas and Keefe tomorrow before this season gets out of hand.

This isn't where rookies are hired to learn on the job.

Get get some hockey people back into the fold and right the ship. Instil some accountability and after everything is assessed the new GM can start making some moves. We have lots of desirable assets to sell off or trade for players that fit better.
 
These past games have nothing to do with depth or players we lost. The guys who we thought would be carrying the team are mia.

The best way to describe them is they all look like Gusev in the pre season excluding Nylander.

There's no point wasting our breath over past players. This is a new problem never seen before. Most of the doubters even assumed the top guys would light it up but ultimately come up short because of lack of depth. Nobody here thought the top guys would look like they should be making league minimum (Matthews Marner Tavares Rielly Muzzin).

Bring in any depth you want if the above guys don't perform we are drafting bottom 10

You're not in the North Division anymore Dorothy :p

I wouldn't get too comfortable assuming that's a given. We'll revisit at deadline.

Im afraid he will name wickenhaiser the new coach/gm…… it would be fitting.

If they play like this for much longer there won’t be a playoffs for them this season
