what a joke.

Thought the same thing was said every playoff loss over the past 4-5 years. It was said after the Columbus loss, it was said after the Montreal loss... now we're saying in the season. Call a spade a spade, this group isn't going to outwork anyone for a sustained period of time and looks even more lost and confused now then they ever did under Babs.

The Hurricanes are everything I wanted the Leafs to be: Solid defensively, aggressive on offense, a constant threat for the majority of the game and difficult to play against.
And they finally got their missing piece, a decent goalie

A better question would be if Leafs rehire Babs, do they need to pay him a new salary?
Way back then, Babs garnered an insane 8-year $50 M contract ($6.25 AAV) and Coach Q currently earns the highest AAV. To beg Iron Mike to return would likely cost the Leafs a king’s ransom.

Big yikes. They're talking like these are all first or second year players. These are seasoned veterans. If they still don't get it, they never will.
You think Keefe considers himself a highly paid day care sitter.

Firing the coach because the players don't like him sends the wrong message. The players now believe they are above the law. They don't have to work that hard and when the team goes south, they know they can just blame the coach which is what I'm sure our illustrious pretty boys are doing right now. I may have dumped Babcock but I would have dumped every player that complained about him. That is what creates a toxic attitude in the locker room. Keep your mouth shut and do your job. That is something our spoiled rotten kids will never learn and never do.

I think it is time for Leafs to get one of their former Greats to coach the team.
Get Dougie for coach, Wendal for Asst coach, and Roberts as trainer. Get a Cujo for goalie coach too.

Firing the GM now could send a pretty strong message (without touching the players at the moment) that big brother is gone and any could be next.

Dubas obviously believed that someone with decent numbers(like Ritchie) and the fact he's a bigger body, would easily replace Hyman(similar with other shitty players in this lineup)..This is the shit that really pisses me off...Yes, it's easier to replace those bigger, hard working types...That doesn't mean it's so easy nor does it mean every single hard working player brings the same type of game(for example, you can work hard and barely ever have the puck...well, what good is that? I'm also talking about Simmonds and few others on the team...work ethic with very little of anything else...

Dubas ruined the team and there is still time to do even more damage...In any other league, you'd be fired so easily for making a very good lineup so bad..Unreal...
But Richie has never worked hard...

Back checking is the biggest issue. We have half the team fake back checking by flailing their arms. Plus, we have no one to get Matthews the puck in the ozone. Now matthews has to get the puck himself. And in 4 games, Matthews has not let that shot fly. I think his wrist is still wonky.

It's part of the teams' bonus plan that they all wave-like crazy on the backcheck in order to generate electricity to save the frigging planet.

Only Nylander and Marner might fear being traded as Tavares is as furniture fixture as you can get and Matthews is the Leafs’ poster boy.

sorry I just meant players we lost because of Marner

Have you noticed that Dubas with his glasses is smiling and jovial whereas without his glasses, he’s serious and talks intelligently?

These past games have nothing to do with depth or players we lost. The guys who we thought would be carrying the team are mia.

The best way to describe them is they all look like Gusev in the pre season excluding Nylander.

There's no point wasting our breath over past players. This is a new problem never seen before. Most of the doubters even assumed the top guys would light it up but ultimately come up short because of lack of depth. Nobody here thought the top guys would look like they should be making league minimum (Matthews Marner Tavares Rielly Muzzin).

Bring in any depth you want if the above guys don't perform we are drafting bottom 10

Then why did boy wonder pay the rfas like they were proven winners before they won anything?
