Muzzin choke slams both Mitch and Paul Marner for the win......

Nothing to see here. Nice to see some competitive fire in practice.

Both players know their place on the team, and there won't be anything further.

Hopefully Marner is alright and Muzzin keeps buzzin......

A little animosity in the room is a good thing.

Pretty big motivator when you're on a line with someone you can't stand: On one hand you want to set him up for a beauty goal just to prove you're above petty B.S., and when that fails (he doesn't even acknowledge your play) you want to score a beauty yourself just to rub throw it back in his face. Mini internal competition is helpful too.

I also think complacency settles in when most of the guys are super-buds, less likely to say what needs to be said. As in, "you stunk that one up, *****. Smarten up."

Internal competition is great but we don't need it resulting in actual injuries, so there's a balance there.

Leafs fans hate themselves
It is a purposeless dysphoria driven by the tribalism promoted by social media. People dont get that this kind of toxic unrestrained tribalism paradoxically serves to exacerbate the loneliness and emptiness in their own souls.
They will eventually realize that no one will praise them for putting a match to their own beds.

Good post. Bang on.

Odd take. You’re expected to get hit by the opposition in a game, something Mitch is excellent at avoiding. He would have no issue if he was caught by a clean check.

I suppose its odd if, you've never played the game before... there's contact in practice, for those of us who have played the game we understand this. For players like Mitch they tend to mouth off to bigger stronger players in practice in a way they probably wouldn't if it was game time against a similar sized opponent. Those of us who played the game understand this. Perspective makes an odd concept for some a pedestrian concept for many.

Holy hell. I hated this attitude when I played both hockey and football. I dropped a few mother f***ers who dared try to play their mass off on a smaller skilled players attempting to alpha them. Many times it was off the ice or field.

A buddy just told me he heard he's out for a while but he's not someone I know with any legit info.
Have they been discussing this on the radio this morning?

Marner would need to be out until the December 29th game against Pittsburgh, to be eligible for LTIR. That would satisfy the 10 games and 24 days... it would actually be 11 games and 24 days for us. Hopefully he isn't out that long, but that's the cap consideration in this discussion.

That's one way to get the fanbase to turn on you, Muzzin. Also almost injured Matthews in the Winnipeg game lol.

Sounds like concussion. Hard to know a timeline on that. 1-2 can easily turn to 3-4 or more
It's weird the Insiders know how long he'll be out but don't know what's wrong with him.

If it gets anywhere near two more weeks, he's likely going to be held out, until they can LTIR his contract, to help on the cap.

I understand this was an accident, and these things just happen from time to time, but holy f*** Muzz you can't do anything right this year.

He needs to step up here in Marner's absence. Shut the f***ing door and gut out some W's

I'm all for intense practice sessions, but this is ridiculous. We simply can't have our players on concussion protocols resulting from deliberate collisions in practice.

I know Marner isn't the most durable guy, but there's still no excuse for this sort of thing.
