Marner is soft

marner career hits 156 in 379 games
Nylander career hits 93 in 382 games
Matthews career hits 180 in 355 games

the smallest softest player seems to be
Just as tough or better than some of our bigger

posters looking silly continuing with this marner is soft agenda but giving bigger stronger players the benefit of the doubt

Remember that game where it sounded like some one said ‘f~~~ off muzz’?
At the end of that game, Muzz grabbed the game puck to give to Woll (I think it was Woll) and Marner tried to grab it from him to be the one to pass it along.
I don’t really care for drama, but it makes you wonder.

No, apparently only you remember that.

I saw Muzz pick up the puck, Marner try to take it, and then he skated away.
You’re pretty defensive about this.
I didn’t say anything about Marner; just said what I saw.

You are being disingenuous, and you know it.

I like to see this fire in players, let’s face it, they play a physical sports, it is good to have aggression

Thing is, all the superstars over the last fifty years had grit.

Buddy of mine, was said to be this and that, hall of famer, rich for life, he just walked from hockey, his dad pushed him so hard.

Runnerup to Lemieux in that big pee wee tourney in Quebec.

His dad had him playing three yeas up and he watched Wayne Gretzky play three different age groups in some tournament one weekend..

He said he and his father were shocked as shinola, to see Gretzky knocked out, three times in one day..

Now this guy is not a bs er, but I have never heard anything like that

And, Wayne had more lateral than a great lateral player, Marner....

My point is, I know this is all fun and games, but understand, if you have ever played a certain level of hockey.,..

My personal view, is that every NHL, hockey player, is pretty hard...

Every top 100 of all time NHLers imho was and is hard nosed...

Being tough, is a lot of things... Marner, as someone pointed out, did a Nick Ritchie, on Grundstrom, a guy who was regarded as our toughest prospect...

Marner got married in the offseason, as Tavares last offseason, so yeah, bit of an adjustment, with that new shared life...

But both are now better because they married solid people.

Kadri married a gorgeous woman, started slow the following season, now.... seems to be doing pretty well.

I don't want to see Marner playing the pk.,.

Unless we are in a game seven, he is a pk nutbar...Plenty of hair on this guy.

Depends what qualifies as a hit. Pretty sure huge hits and brushing up against a guy in the corner both count

Meh for 11 mill if you're not physical, have no shot, and can't score on the PP to save your life.....
It's like there's some other ability in hockey to produce, like setting up goals. And this is coming from someone who was shitting all over Marner early this season. And it was well deserved given he's not worth much when he's not producing.

I find something about little Mitch mouthing off to Muz funny....

My guess is if Muz was on another team and that happened during a game, Mitchy wouldn't be so brave.

No real leaf fan can cheer for this clown after his contract negotiations. It’s all about him. Always will be
please enlighten us as to what "real leafs fans" are allowed to do, and whom we are allowed to cheer for. im sure we are all waiting with bated breath.

Feed it and they stay. Ignore it and they slither away.

Odd take. You’re expected to get hit by the opposition in a game, something Mitch is excellent at avoiding. He would have no issue if he was caught by a clean check.

Who cares,….boys will be boys. Marner probably just a little embarrassed in front of his team mates that the wind blew him over.

This is usually the type of stuff you see in pracky with a team that is in the dumps. Not sure who’s at fault here as I can’t find the actual “collision”, but they need to drop this.

This stuff is pretty common. The Marner reaction isn't anything to talk about. He's a competitive guy so emotion will come out.
