How do you pay for a quality 3rd line centre and improvement for the D when the 4 clowns are sucking up all the money. It simply can’t happen
It just happened last year.

Your way of thinking screams someone that has never been part of a team. You simply do not understand team dynamics. A team that turns the other cheek when a teammate is injured by a notoriously dirty player will
never accomplish anything. This is a sickening group of individuals.
So does Florida, NJ, and the Rangers all fall into the same catergory as the Leafs?

All have had star players injured this past week on "dirty plays" and none of them did anything in response.

It will be a good test this Wednesday when the Leafs play the Sens. Lets see if the Leafs have an answer for Brady Tkachuk!

It's so clear. The Leafs have to trade Marner or Styles. In return they get a solid d-man and 3C. The guys they trade for need to play with attitude. Or trade for a Tkachuk and overpay.

In what world is this same level of dirty as what Marchand did to Liljegren? This was just a collision where Fox basically skated into Aho.

Post videos of the other incidents. I’d like to see what you’re talking about here.

Edit: saw the Hughes incident. He literally lost his footing and slid into the boards on his own

McAvoy knocking out OEL and being suspended for 4 games.

Aho/Fox could have been accidental but normally would be enough for a skirmish. Trouba talked about it after the game.

The Hughes one was why I put quotation marks. He got tripped driving the net but it appeared to be accidental.

I have just obser ed this year on numerous occasions that teams are not retaliating the same as before. I have zero idea why. I am not advocating for it. I just know it is not only the Leafs that have had responses like this so far.

I wish all the time that the Leafs would play with more emotion and for lack of a better word, heart but they are who they are.

This is the McAvoy hit

I thought the Leafs coming back and getting a point was good, but a response to Marchand would have been better.

All the team comments today that they talked about it and things will be different Are interesting. If they change, it means a mandate was lifted. If 5th don’t, the team needs a transplant.

People are piss and upset not bc Reaves didn’t punch Marchand but it is the response of the team. Did any one of them bump, cross check and even shove Marchand or the Bruins after the whistle when there was a scrum? Did any of them went went and grab Marchand and said what you did was not cool and you know it. None of them did. Reaves was supposed to do that but all he did was tapping on the bench.

This team is such a joke.

It's getting harder and harder to watch a bunch of grown ass men constantly get pushed around and bullied. Then to flat out lie after and deny culpability. Every single member of this organization should be hanging their head in shame right now.

How do you not stand up for yourself and your teammates?

How do you not get angry? And if you are angry how do you not do something? How does the captain, coach, and every single player on that team allow this to happen?

This is all on Shanahan.

There is no way, none, that an entire team of pacifist hockey players would come together spontaneously like this. Since 2018 the entire team, including the coach and GM, has changed with the exception of MNMT+R. Yet the entire team STILL plays like a bunch of cowardly, spineless, gutless pukes.

Intensity is a quality in this sport.

Zen, acceptance, complacency, not so much. The Leafs have gone from being the laughing stock of the NHL ... to being the laughing stock of the NHL. Bertuzzi isn't the only one who found this funny.

The entire hockey world is laughing at the Toronto Maple Leafs right now.

Oh, I've been part of plenty of teams and understand team dynamics perfectly fine. If somebody thinks team dynamics just means throwing punches any time anything happens, they don't know team dynamics very well, or realize what the rest of the league does. They're just thirsty for violence.
This is vague and probably fictional.

What teams? What sports? Do you still play?

Free agents that come to TO or are traded at the deadline don't resign the next year, why?
Simple it's the culture! The lesser players are expected to take the bullets for the elite at a minimum wage. Why would anybody agree to go to the battle for these players making bags of money when they will in no way reciprocate the gesture. I sure wouldn't and most don't. This core is the #1 problem here. I liked the lesser talented lunch pale teams 100% more than these undesirables.

Decent article.

This team doesn’t need Reaves to be its Goliath. It needs a group of players with slingshots who are committed to each other’s welfare. These are players who will go to battle against any opponent who treats a teammate dangerously. A few little guys with grit will do just fine for me.

They don’t even have to win; they just have to show up. If they do, they will inspire each other to join the fray in ways that an enforcer like Reaves can never do.

Reaves is a band-aid solution for a bigger problem. That’s why he’ll never be the answer for what ails this Maple Leafs team.

Link is here -
Friedman saying there was a team meeting yesterday. Topic - team is too soft. And apparently Keefe hated the lack of response.

The first step to fixing a problem is acknowledging that there is a problem. Ok we're there now, does that mean there's hope?

I need a straw to grasp as I'm completely devoid of hope at the moment.
