None of this is surprising if you are paying attention to would events unfortunately.

These terrorists don't want Israel to exist. They don't want Rome to exist. Spain. America. They want the world.

They're saying it on tv. It's in the manifestos. Wake up people.

Be alert and be aware. Keep living your lives, but be aware.

Where are you getting information that is saying this is terrorism?

Reuters is reporting that initial U.S. Customs and Border Protection assessment suggests incident at US-Canada border crossing caused by reckless driver whose actions resulted in a crash and fire.

Just goes to show, of the 10 initial reports you hear, 9 of them are probably untrue.

1 news source immediately jumped to terrorism.

The rest, for the most apart, wait and see.

Although CBP and FBI assumed worst. Buffalo airport and Amtrak still closed as they work their way backwards from worst case. But most outlets theorizing it was mechanical failure or personal health event. Causing high rate of speed. Loss of control.
Hit median , went airborne, caught fire and exploded.
Guess we know when we know.

At the time lots of major news outlets were saying it. Twitter reporters as well.

Lots of information coming at fast speed. FBI coming etc etc

If it turns out not to be, that's fantastic. But still be vigilant as Anthony Blinkin has already said we are on high alert.

I'm very sorry for your (and your sisters) loss. How old was your brother?
I just spent the day in the hospital. I've been having torn hamstring/ meniscus issues with my left knee (2 year ago it was the right knee).
To my slight surprise I mentioned to my dr that the calf was hot, swollen and very sensitive. Being a heart patient/and stroke survivor I was worried about clots. He sent me right in to the hospital for an Ultrasound. Turns out it was a cyst that burst in the knee and Phlebitis/blood clot. Even though it's several inches long it's not in the major vein so I was sent home with Xarelto. When I saw your post I was a bit shocked by the similarity.
I too will pray for your sister and you.
I was really sorry to read this, and wish you and your a peaceful Thanksgiving and my deepest condolences. Message me any time bro!

I'm glad you're getting the care you need, Gordon.

Sending the good thought,

Made hermits (daughter's request) made carrot nut cake. Will bake the apple pie tomorrow morning.

Now I am at Logan awaiting my daughter's plane that left two hours late.

I don't know how you guys do it.

Air travel makes me nervous. And I used to enjoy it.

Be safe on the way home and enjoy your Turkey Day.

I think they were basing it on the condition of the car or what was left of it didn’t really add up to just a car crash ,but after seeing the high rate of speed and how it flew through the air ,it makes the crash theory very logical.

It is going to be a quiet Thanksgiving. I used to go to a maternal uncle's with family, but have little family left. Said uncle and his wife are in FLA doing fairly well. They just sent me a nice mini-tree and some nice ornaments for a window.
I thought about going to a restaurant, but no. I have spent too much lately. I have never made a turkey and I am not starting now. I will just make a nice meatloaf or something.

Quiet for me, too.

My family is scattered about the country, and brother Bob lives in Glasgow.

Still enjoy the holidays, though.

Take care of yourself and enjoy that (underrated) meatloaf.

I'm just glad that it's not terrorism. If that's still true.

I only saw 1 “news” source immediately jump to terrorism and they’ve changed gears since then. It’s possible other news agencies said the same but I hadn’t seen it. Unsurprising and a good reminder how poor media literacy is for some in the US (and probably abroad)

Also this might have been the video you were talking about.

Looks like something out of Dukes of Hazard

All bridges except the Rainbow Bridge have reopened. The two dead were in the car. One border agent has minor injuries and has been released.

I've heard of some insurance companies refusing to insure Kia/Hyundais or a certain model year because of this. Luckily, my Kia doesn't have the same ignition as the ones getting stolen, but I've just been waiting for that letter stating my policy is being cancelled

I can confirm this- some companies flat out won't insure these vehicles.

FYI- each car model has at least 3 rating symbols- liability, collision & comprehensive (fire, glass, theft). These symbols are determined by loss history for that particular make & model. The rule of thumb is the lower the symbol the lower the rate. I can guarantee that the comprehensive symbol for these vehicles will be raised substantially because of this issue.
