Looks great. One of my best friends is extremely keen to go diving with whale sharks. You can do it here in Oz but the place to go is a 5-hour flight from where we live. I'm hoping he just gets on and does it sooner rather than later because it always seems to be amazing. But personally I'm just happy to view things from the boat!
I was really impressed by how well the Mexican Govt regulates diving with these animals. There is a daily limit to how many boats can go out, and there can never be more than 5 divers near an animal at any time. Also, you cannot get closer than 5’. All of this is strictly enforced and closely monitored by authorities. I was really impressed with how well they try to protect these magnificent animals from the pressures of mass tourism.

Well. We started the process of getting a new fence in the front and back.

Replacing the broken wood in the front of the house with wood again.

And we all decided to do a chain link fence in the back with privacy shutters.

Unfortunately, my dad and the company forgot about the nor'easter thats coming so the project won't be complete until the rain goes. However, the poles and concrete are in in the back. Feels naked. And in front of the house. The beautiful black cat who visits my cat aka tortures him through the window at night was very confused.

I just found an earwig in the house.....it is April 2nd, that is crazy. I can imagine the bug season is going to be terrible with the mild winter. Ugh.....

Saturday night I watched "A bad day at Black Rock", 1955 Spencer Tracy movie. A classic.
Excellent!

Then after wife and I watched "Doc Hollywood ', Michael J Fox. 1991.
Solid comedy.

Yes, the classics are rarely there, plus I'm finding Hollywood rather gross these days.

2023 was one of the best movie years ever.

Car has been at the dealer since sun up Monday. They agreed to replace the steering column harness and gear assembly under warranty but have to order parts. They have no idea why i saw a hybrid system warning last week. It’s a big enough mystery that they are working with some Kia hybrid engineers, and now they are going to drive it while hooked into some diag computer and send all the data back to Kia.

I’m fine without a car. For now. I’m starting to wonder what happens if they can’t figure this out? Car is under warranty for everything still at this point. It’s only been a few days, but what if this goes on another month, do they just take the car back and give me another lol what happens next?!

One of the best movies I've seen in the last 3 years was Knives Out.
One of the worst was Knives Out 2.

The most stupidest movie...."Old". Incredibly idiotic wth budget of 84 bucks.
Most pointless: Priscilla. Yes Priscilla, life sure was tough for you.🙄 One of the main backers of the movie backed out and the budget was slashed...and it showed.

I enjoyed them both, but the first was infinitely better. I feel like they are more than 3 years old though.

You might like Bullet Train

The first one was good and had more nuance but Glass Onion was a little heavy handed. Rian Johnson has no concept of subtlety and despite a great cast the second one was nothing but "Rich people bad" and the thinly-veiled Elon Musk analogue and other white tech billionaires are actually really stupid and stole all their ideas from smart strong minority women (this is pretty much the takeaway of every movie since 2020 and I'm getting sick of it).

Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc could be an iconic character for years to come but Rian Johnson can't get out of his own way with the hack storytelling.

I think the Benoit Blanc character more than made up for the hack story telling. You could probably argue that because Craig was so good in the first film, they put less effort into a semi-reasonable story and made Benoit Blanc the only focus of the sequel. Glass Onion was the Daniel Craig show.

Yeah, he could be a modern day Poirot with a little more humor.

Speaking of Poirot, I do like the Branagh movies but a Haunting in Venice was not very good because it wanted to be a spooky season Halloween movie first and a mystery second.

The one thing I liked about Old was the moral questions it raises, same as Extreme Measures with gene Hackman and Hugh Grant. I like siding with "the bad guys" in those sorts of movies.
