Saturday night I watched "A bad day at Black Rock", 1955 Spencer Tracy movie. A classic.
Excellent!

Then after wife and I watched "Doc Hollywood ', Michael J Fox. 1991.
Solid comedy.

Yes, the classics are rarely there, plus I'm finding Hollywood rather gross these days.
We watched that last week.

Just left my car at the dealership for an oil change and 3 reported issues. Had a CEL and a “check hybrid system” warning on Friday, of course the lights went away today. I just don’t know much about the hybrid component, so I want this investigated. If they charge a diag fee and find nothing, so be it

The other two issues. My turn signal assembly is definitely broken. Everything works, for now, but it’s clicking and crackling like there’s no tomorrow. Also when I turn the wheel I get a crazy whine from the column. I suspect there are some worm gears in the steering column that are dried out and grinding. Car is under warranty with only 40ish k on it. I think it’s only fair that both of those concerns are resolved without a diag fee

They made sure to tell me “if we don’t find anything to repair or this isn’t a warranty job, each of these three items carries a $130 diag fee.” Which I understand…but I also know something isn’t right in this car and needs to be fixed
My engine light has been on for almost two years. I took it to AutoZone for a code reading and it pointed to it being the thermostat, which can get stuck open which can cause you to use too much coolant, but I found through research and asking around that it's not actually a big deal as long as the engine isn't overheating, so it's not something to urgently get done. Eventually I'll do it,along with other tune-up stuff, but yeah, haven't had time at all.

I've replaced a couple thermostats over the years in various cars. Usually amounts to 15 bucks or so, and an hour of my time. Last car the stat failed and stuck open like you said, but it threw a specific trouble code that prohibited me from getting a valid inspection. So while it wasn't a huge issue for me or the car, I did have to repair that one sooner than was probably necessary.

As ready as we can be. They do an exceptional job of warning and preparing people. The biggest concern here is 2"+ hail or larger. They can't rule out a tornado but the chances are worse north and east of us.

For now I am just chilling with the dog and enjoying my last day of vacation.

Be safe @Bruinaura and @AngryMilkcrates. This is heading your way tomorrow.

You always hear people talk about tornado weather but it is another thing to feel it first hand. It is beyond soupy outside.

Yep, looks like it could be a crazy weather day here tomorrow. They just upgraded our chances for the bad stuff.

Go away stupid weather!!

I found out recently that the guy from church who has helped me with numerous car issues is a former Navy Seal. I knew he he had been in the Navy but he never said he was a Seal. I only found out when I was talking to his wife and she said something about it. She said it's not something he likes to make a big deal about.

Kind of cool though, in my opinion. Seals are tough cookies.

I am hesitant to watch old movies that I remember are good.
I always thought Cape Fear, the version with De niro, was a great movie.
Tried watching it about 3 years ago, and looked like it was filmed with someones camcorder.
I remember the first 3 star wars movies, when I saw them originally come out, were awesome.
Anything newer and I think they stink. Afraid to rewatch the old ones and see that they sucked as well. Of course what I thought was good 40 years ago might not be what I think is good today.

Have a good friend of mine from Grade 1 onward who used to fly the A6 Prowler into some pretty sticky areas. The only reason I know this is through his dad, because the only thing my friend ever said about it is "How do you know when someone hasn't been in the shit? They tell you about it."

I can sit and watch Jaws (the first one) anytime.
Favorite movie of all time.
Quint, Hooper and Chief Brody are the best bad mixture to have on a boat fighting for their lives.

Honorable mention: Marty, White Heat, The Sting, Cool hand Luke, Midnight Cowboy, Grapes of Wrath, Outlaw Josey Wales, Money Ball, Forrest Gump, The Godfather 1&2, The Hustler, Young Frankenstein, Search for the Holy Grail...a few others where if it's on....I have to stop and watch.
