No need to panic or be overly concerned after losing a game due to two powerplay goals. It was expected for the Sharks to come out flying and with a ton of energy after being down by two games, but considering how invisible the Kings' top line has been, they held the Sharks off and didn't give them too many great looks on Quick, and whatever chances they had were stopped by him. They need to support Quick with more goals.

The Kings were a little too inexperienced in this game and they didn't have the benefit of having the last change on the ice. Ellerby and Muzzin are the team's two least experienced defensemen, and pairing them together is just asking for trouble. They need some consistent performances from their top players. Once they get that, they should finally start clicking offensively and at even strength. For some reason, their passing was very off tonight and not many were connecting tape to tape.

Pearson was just not going to make a difference playing 5 mins.

It was pretty much a waste. Unless Sutter wanted the Kid to see playoff Hockey.

Why not ? The fourth line has been non effective all season.

I liked Pearsons game. Having seen him play allot I saw several really solid signs that he was figuring out his game at the NHL level. He was closer then I thought he was at this point and I see him making the team next season.

If we had put him out with Stoll as his center and TL as his RW I think he might have had a pretty solid game. He looked alright all things considered. I am not certain we will see him again these playoffs but it was nice to see him get a look. I think he makes the team next season.

I don't know why people are so upset with King, he is playing almost exactly like he did last season.

With one exception, A few more of his shots on Goal...Went in last year.

He is still one of the first guys in on the Fore-check.

But the Sharks/Blues are two of the best transition teams in the league. If the Kings make it passed this round, the Hawks are too.

Wings not so much.

Regarding Quick all I'm really trying to say is he shouldn't be abusing the refs or whining incessantly to them. He's better than that.
.

Very true. Refs listened and he got the benefit of the doubt when it wasn't whining after every goal. It loses its effectiveness if you work the refs after nearly every play. Haven't seen him blow his top in a while.

That being said, I think he had a case tonight. He was taking a beating in and around his crease.

We had to suck it up and kill the penalties, but if the refs are gonna let people like Burns and Galiardi elbow and trip our goalie, they'd also better let us handle that on our own. The call on Niemi was legit, but I can't say I wouldn't be upset if I were Quick battling for space all game then watched the one time noted cheap short artist Trevor Lewis got in Niemi's airspace he went down like a sack of potatoes only to get a call.

Agreed and very concise.

Wings not so much.

King is not as fast and his game is not as physical as last year.

He wasn't ether of those two last year, you people have selective memory going on.

For being slow he sure beats Richards and Carter too a lot of pucks in the O zone.

The guy is not some world beater, and Sutter has kept him there for a reason.

I would rather see Penner there, but Sutter see's otherwise.

King is only playing like 14 mins a night while Carter/Richards at 20+ mins a night.

Stoll's absence is another hurter.

Definitely. It would have been Stoll out there instead of Mike Richards on the last PK. Poor Richards he was looking tired with 3 penalties on us in a span of about 5:30 minutes.

Clifford is injured, and Toffoli is not a guy that is going to create space for Richards/Carter for 20+ mins.

Toffoli looks just fine with that Third/Fourth line. Those Lines have people that can create space for Toffoli

Lets hold up. Clifford should be back for the next game and if he is then he should replace Kings position and have him benched.

King creates absolutely no space for Carter and Richards. He doesn't even hit or retain possession of the puck. Toffoli has the system down much better now so I think it'd be nice to see how he'd do with Carter and Richards.

Toffoli threw bigger hits today then King had. It was sad.

Im tired of seeing Richards and Carter play 4 on 5. King is non existent. He doesn't use his size. King should be benched. Clifford and Pearson/Andy should get some 3/4 line minutes. We really dont have better roster replacements. Its big to bring a kid in at this time, but we are getting nothing from these lines and going forward like this is too risky. The kings need to try some new guys and mix.

It's not time to panic, but just be realistic. King shouldn't be playing.

We can keep richardson in if clifford comes back or replace him with someone else.

Just king needs to be gone. He's absolutely worthless so far.

If the Kings do decide to switch lines up to get certain players going, what changes would you guys like to see? An interesting look to me would be the following:

Brown-Kopitar-Toffoli
Penner-Richards-Carter
Richardson-Lewis-Williams
King-Fraser-Nolan

If Clifford is healthy, I prefer to have him in the lineup over King or Richardson, however, I think the Kings could use some speed on the wings, which is where Richardson can be useful. It also helps that he's a bit of a pest as well and can get under the opponents skin.

The big difference between his game now and last year is that King is no longer going to the right spot when he doesn't have the puck, or making the right play when he gets it. He does fetch it, but absolutely nothing comes of it and he often gives it away.

He's also playing with a center who isn't looking very good offensively himself and very rarely skates past defenders. I want to see Penner or preferably Brown with that line. Move Toffoli up to play with Kopitar.

Yeah, totally. Miss Stoll like crazy. He is a great 2nd/3rd line center.

Richards sort of **** the bed when he didn't get the puck in deep when he intercepted the pass, might of killed extra few seconds. Who knows. Just that was a sloppy play.

The Kings weren't going to sweep. Its still a tough way to lose though..

Kings have to be ready Tuesday. I'm not concerned about Quick though. He hardly ever gets on a refs case and I'm sure he had good reason..its a game of emotion.

lol! I am not being selective. If you watch last year PO games you will see his game has changed. He is slower and the hits are no longer hard hitting solid hits. If there are then they are too few and far in between.

You could be Hawks fan's right now, what a lifeless effort from the Hawks.

The Wings took it too them all night. 1-1 split.

I know most comments are saying we weren't going to sweep but I really wanted it. I liked last year better when we were up 3-0 in each series. I know that's not reasonable i just hate the sharks a lot. I'll feel better with a win Tuesday

The TSN highlights show Quick skated towards the ref skating by the boards, then yell something at him and skated off. Seen Mike Smith do much worse.

Agreed, but not really the guy we want to compare him too imo.

I would still LOVE to know what he said  Guessing we won't be seeing that mic'ed up, eh?
