He was getting pushed around all game. It's hard enough to stop so many shots, you think he should deal with being hit in the head too? How often do you see Quick complain like that? Sometimes you've got to speak up. Are we gonna wait until they really end up hitting our best player? Then we'd be completely screwed if he got hurt.

And unless the refs are complete babies they will at least listen to Quick. If they just go back and look at the game they'll see how many times the Sharks crossed the line.

Seriously comparing him to Mike Smith? The guy who does backflips every time someone brushes past him? Come on.

He complains like Mike Smith all the time these days. I love the guy but it's true. The guy gets no beneficial calls because he goes after the referees when he gives up a goal due to a screen in front of him, like tonight. You don't have to agree with what I'm saying, but look at the Vlasic goal in Game 2. He's barking at the refs after he gives up a goal because his own guy is behind him. That's needless complaining that is only going to turn referees against him.

They didn't call any of the shoving against Niemi that happened until Trevor Lewis ran him over at a decent rate of speed. That has not happened to Quick and hopefully will not happen.

I'm more nervous in this series being up 2-1 than when the kings were down 0-2 against the blues. There is just something about the sharks that makes the kings play outside of their system.

Kings need to start generating offense on a more consistent basis. A broken record, but they have no transition game at all. Defense is so young and just can't move the puck quickly and accurately. Too many passes into skates and behind players. No speed generated in the neutral zone to back off the defense.

Don't know if there is anything that Sutter can do other than play Martinez. He can skate and pass. Just have to live with him in the lineup. Since he isn't using the fourth line much at all, it's time to go back to seven defensemen. I really hoped he would have done it tonight.

Go kings!

You're Jon Quick?

I assumed. Once Coture slid across and did the humping, tbag gesture Quick shot out like a cannon that way and Coture just went straight to the locker room. Usually if a goalie is upset about a goal the reaction is immediate. Quick became demonstrous after a delay.

It's silly to presume that the reason Quick gets no calls is because he challenges the refs. It's likely due to the refs being horribly inconsistent instead of any ill conceived bias.

Game Four is going to be another tight game.

The Kings are not going to play like last year, it's not going to happen.

This is what the team is.

A good Defense team that keeps the score close.

Also the Kings are playing much better teams this time around.

The Sharks and Blues are really good teams.

But why would the refs give a **** about a goal celebration? Had to be something else.

Kings can still come home with a split and a chance to close it out at home. They get an extra day off, hope they come out with the fire and good passing. Until their passing improves, they are going to grind out games and hope quick steals the game.

I don't want to sound negative, but I've yet to see the team come out and play with fire and good passing at all this playoffs. I believe it will be more of the same for Gm 4. That isn't to say LA can't win or won't win, but I'm sure SJ will continue to control most of the play.

You probably didn't care if the Kings lost already down 2-0.

Much easier to swallow a loss down 2-0. Means your team is not good enough to be in the series.

People want Martinez back?

Some short memories in here, AMart's game 2 was as bad as anything we have seen from Muzzin this year.

I know, I was being a smart ass. But considering the abuse Quick took all night, losing on a PP that was given to the other team for running into their goalie would seem the more logical reason, no?

Combination of Injures and having just won the Cup.

Milan Lucic was candid enough to admit, that you can't manufacture Passion.

Said it was really hard to get up for games. I see a lot of the same from Kings players.

That's what I said, Kings were lucky to win game two giving up Three even strength goals.

Like the sharks coach said "You get three at even strength on Quick, you better win the game".

Both Wingles and Fraser were behind him on that goal. And what shoving against Niemi? I don't remember any of our guys hitting Niemi in the head. So your argument is he should just let everyone climb all over him without a word?

I get that you guys don't want to be 'those fans' who blame the refs but the team can't be pushovers either. San Jose complained about penalties last game and lo and behold they get a 5-3 to end their next game. By the logic I'm hearing here, the refs should've been pissed enough to never give them another call.

Part of the game is about posturing, you can't let the other team walk all over you just cause you are afraid the refs might hold it against you. And the refs shouldn't have such big egos that they would be overlook penalties just cause Quick hurt their feelings. He doesn't flop around, he doesn't curse them out, he just pleads his case.

And honestly, if you had spent all night getting pushed around only to see them call the deciding penalty on goalie interference for the other team I'd expect you to be pissed too. The guy's a competitor, he's going to be pissed off.

San Jose players and Coaches didn't complain about the calls.

They said the didn't agree but that they should have killed them off.

The only person that got close was Vlasic, but even he said No comment on the Refs.

The Sharks Coach did it right " We took some PK's to the end the game and didn't kill them off".

No mention of Refs what so ever.

All right, you are right.

GO KINGS GO!!!

LETS GUT THESE GUPPIES!!!

CUT OFF THEIR FINS AND THROW THE REST IN THE GARBAGE!

GO KINGS GO!!!!

So the boys have two days of rest.
Will Clifford be ready to go for Tuesday game? If he is, who will be sitting? Nolan or Toffoli? I vote Nolan

The thought of sitting Toffoli better not be crossing Sutter's mind for one second

I wouldn't disagree with that at all and I think it's understandable regardless of the long layoff from the lockout. Doughty looked absolutely gassed out there tonight. I think missing Greene and Mitchell obviously have played a huge role in the team's struggles as well... not just on the ice, but in the locker room as well. I don't know how close Greene is to returning, but he traveled with the team to SJ. I don't know what that means, but it can't be a bad thing.

Hopefully the team can find a way. I think Richards and Carter have brought effort, but unless Kopitar, Brown and Williams find that something extra to push on, a repeat will be difficult. Unfortunately I haven't seen any signs of that happening. Especially Brown, who has been awful thus far.

Gm 4 would be a great place to start.

So did Quick do an interview after the game tonight where he called out the refs? There was plenty of complaints by the Sharks on the ice. After the game when you have time to cool off, then you shouldn't say anything. But with adrenaline pumping and the competition is nasty, you are going to lose your temper.

Give me two reasons why King is in the line up.

I really can't find anything.

He doesn't hit. Nothing

Guys A-Mart deserved that Bench, he was on the ice For three even strength goals against in a single game.

You can complain about Ellerby all you want Muzzin too, But both of those guys have not had an even strength game that bad.

The Kings did not give up an Even strength goal tonight....

I think you make fair points here. However playing Muzzin and Ellerby together is a bad idea and it was Ellerby who made the mistake that cost us the game winning goal by leaving his man open in the slot.

I would also add that since it was scored on the PP that if A Mart was on the ice that it wouldn't have likely happened. Maybe the 7d rotation would have been a better call. I can't swallow that our best option after winning the past two games was to go with playing two rookies who are experiencing their growing pains together and why either one of them would have been out killing off a two man advantage during a playoff game. (Ellerby was on the ice when we were down by two men).

Pretty sure Couture sounded like a whiny ***** after Gm 2 in his post game interview.
