Those Burn the..... Tapes! avatars are killing me... :biglaugh:

Or the Choke's on Us ones...

"You gonna let that ****ing horse face act like that? You guys are poo poo heads!"

Didn't see those. Gold!

And knowing Quick, I'm sure he reached some sort of Guiness f-bomb record

Posting on my phone so hope this comes out right, but in retrospect those lineup changes were head scratchers. Muzzin Ellerby pairing when SK had last change is ugh. Also having Ellerby Voynov out there for the ok and having Regehr jump out of the box was...what? Haha. Oh well what's done is done

Had the Forwards showed up or Slava's knuckle shot go in in the last 7 mins....Everyone would be saying how F&*9ing smart Sutter is for benching A-Mart.

Definitely not considering Martinez is our 4th best dman at the moment. He is better than Regehr at pretty much everything but being 'mean and nasty' and 'hard to play against'. Regehr is lucky he gets to play with Doughty, who makes him look good, since he would probably be benched if he had to play with 1 of Muzzin/Ellerby.

Just watch any of the Kings 9 playoff games so far, and count how many times a bottom 6 player on the other team smokes Regehr in the offensive zone resulting in a full shift of pressure as he is left chasing shadows while Doughty is covering for him. Not to mention the train wreck he is when a puck somehow finds a way onto his stick

But enough about how terrible Regehr is, and i won't even bother talking about how much better Martinez is offensively and defensively than either of the 3rd pair, more importantly this was game 3 of the playoffs that Martinez didn't play, and it was the 3rd game where the Kings really really struggled to get any kind of transition game.

And ye King blows, like i said in the offseason/early this year, he should have been traded while his value was high since he is nothing more than an average bottom 6 guy who ran really good over a 20 game sample size in the playoffs. Don't know why everyone is scratched or benched except him when most shifts result in King failing to clear the zone, King giving the puck away trying to make a 70 foot pass to Carter or Richards, or King dumping the puck in and skating by the defenceman who goes back to receive the puck

Play Martinez over Ellerby, move Penner up, don't break up the top line for fun, and all will be well in the world

If we're 6-0 with Martinez in the lineup, you gotta play him, minuses and all. Something he does is contributing to those wins.

There's such a thing as the Jamie Langenbrunner curse:

Devils with Langenbrunner: 10-28-2
Devils without Langenbrunner: 16-2-2

Stars without Langenbrunner: 24-13-5
Stars with Langenbrunner: 7-10-1

Its one of those anomalies you just don't **** with...

Sutter messed with lineup plenty during the 16-4 run...That turned out just fine.

Sutter knows what he is doing.

Could have been just a simple wake up call for A-Mart that game, he was terrible.

Worse than any game Muzzin or Ellerby has played.

Also they were all one goal games, So it's not like A-Mart makes the offense that much better.

Sutter messed with the 16-4 lineup by taking out a player, and replacing him with a better player.

These playoffs he has for whatever reason become accustomed to the opposite

Gagne was not better than any of the Fourth liners last year...

But Sutter knew what he was doing. So it worked out.

Also the top line has been non existent for about more than a Month now. So he should keep sending them out there ?

didn't Gagne replace Richardson?

and yes, the Kings top line is a juggernaut of a top line when it comes to going power vs power vs other top lines. Just because they hit a rough patch, doesn't mean you should become results orientated and break them up. Especially not when it means you are sending out Trevor Lewis with Brown and Williams to score goals

Lol.

Isn't Hockey a results oriented Sport ?

Over a month of non production is more than a rough patch.

Kopitar has 4 points....4....At this time last year he had 14...

Keeping that line together might lose the Kings a series.

Something has to change.

Sutter needs to find something out of those guys.

I am not asking for that Line to produce like last year, that's unrealistic.

But they have gone from brilliant to non existent. You can't have that in an top line.

They need to at least be average. The point production from last year is almost at a 70% drop off.

No, no sport should be results orientated and the best coaches/players aren't, in any sport. The Kings top line outplays the other top line like 7 games out of 10 for example, just because they are unlucky to go 9 games of getting outplayed, doesn't mean you should pass up that 7/10 edge

None of Muzzins horrific giveaways in the blues series ended up in the back of the net, but that doesn't mean they weren't horrific giveaways

Its equally frustrating when the media call out players for not scoring in x amount of games. They aren't doing anything different whatsoever, its just there is this little thing known as variance that exists in sports. For example people here like to say Kopitar 'takes January and February off' which is laughable. He plays identical in those months to any other month, its just a coincidence that variance has resulted in him slumping in those months for a couple of years, but a huge majority of sport fans don't get that.

Awesome so if the Kings lose a series due to Kopitar's Line not showing up....

What say you then ?

I am sure people are going to be mad at Sutter for not breaking that line up.

Sutter got railroaded for breaking them up toward the end of the season, but that top line should have stayed broken up. They've been awful.

Also if he keeps them together and they continue to pull the no show; and the Kings lose the series because of not scoring.

Guess who everyone here is going to blame....Sutter.

Williams/Brown have had a really bad series so far.

Kopitar looked ok last night, He is still not shooting enough.

they got unlucky obviously. The playoffs are hugely luck dependant. If you play your best lines and lose, there is nothing you can do, just 1 of those things.

The Ducks got hugely unlucky that Perry didn't score in their playoffs, but he has gone 7 game stretches without scoring in the past, its variance

That's fine for Fans, But you're paid 7 million dollars a year....

That doesn't fly with Coaches , GM's , Owners...

You're ass better produce in the playoff's. Excuses won't cut it.

I don't care if your going against Chara/Weber, You better score.

You consistently have post seasons of not showing up. You don't play for Cup teams.

You play for Florida.

None of the Kings players are there yet, But the no show is not acceptable.

Does anyone here have the video clip of today(5/18/13) Kings Live, but I didn't get a chance to record it.
Thanks,

The Ducks were lead in scoring by Francois Beauchemin.....I don't care how you try and spin that.

That is 100% not acceptable.. No Coach, GM, Owner, Fan should be ok with that... That is 100% why they lost that series.

That is like Willie Mitchell leading the Kings in scoring for a playoff round....

I agree. This has Langenbrunner written all over it. Sutter or not Martinez probably voodoos the team when he's scratched.. This explains so much.

You just can't go into OT with the opponent on a 5 on 3 for almost 2:00. Sorry. I knew the game was over when I saw the 5 on 3 to end. They did kill one, but not much you're gonna do.

Fact is, Quick gave up 2 on 42 shots. That's pretty damn good for the first game in San Jose. Kings will regroup. I'm not too worried.

When Voynov's agent will ask for 5M/year, DL should show him this game. He is not a top pairing D yet, so 3.5-4 is max what he should get. The biggest difference in Kings play from last year is Kopitar. Because of his weak and slow play, Kings don't play possession game anymore. He isn't dominant player anymore and the whole team suffers because of that. I just hope he plays this way because he is injured. If it's only mental and he is slumping, Kings have really big problem for years to come.
