The Jets are deep at forward and they will cause problems in front of the Avs net all series. Avs are faster and more skilled but their D is going to have problems defending the Jets. It isn’t just goaltending.

I don’t really know if Avs have a backup plan, Annunen has good numbers in a small sample size…do you turn to him?

I don’t know how Georgiev can touch the net again. It’s not just the goals, this guy drops catches like he’s a little kid playing softball.

Avs were the better team blud, not sure which game you were watching, but it wasn't this one.

Annunen needs to get the start in game 1. That was awful goaltending. Not very often you score 6 goals and still get beat but Georgiev is the worst starter of any playoff team and was abysmal down the stretch.

As bad as he was overall, Georgiev was outstanding while the Avs were under siege for a while at the end of the 2nd. Georgiev was bad, but the Avs D was inviting a score line like this.
Weird narrative that the Avs defense was bad. There were a couple of really bad chances given up, but 23 shots against is good shot suppression.

Natural Stat Trick had the Avs expected goals at 1.96 against.

Evolving Hockey had them at 2.31 expected goals:

Even if you think those models are underestimating how poor the Avs defense is deserving to give up say...3 goals isn't anywhere close to 7.

The Avalanche defense needs to figure the Jets out for this to go 7 games, and physical, forechecking systems seem to be Colorado’s kryptonite.

interesting series.

If you watched that game and think that the Avalanche do not have a serious problem defending the Jets down low I don’t know what to say.
The Jets are a good team, nobody here said that they were not, but considering the regular season and all the Avs suck that I've read here...Avs were the better team.

You can say the same thing with the Jets defensive core, trying to match Avs speed tonight was like watching a Ferrari compete against a sloth, slug, snail, tortoise, manatee, and sea anemone. I would say that wind erosion was faster than you lot.

Samberg and Stanley were the biggest culprits for Winnipeg but the top 4 was fine for them but yes the Avs will definitely give the Jets problems with their speed.

Every Jets fan knows that they played poorly in game 1, even Helle.

The real Jets will show up in game 2.

The Avs had their free win game but they blew it.

Yup, the Avs are fast and skilled....but that was simply the worst D game the Jets have played all year. Never mind the other D men( who weren't great).....Pionk was a one man wrecking crew in his own end....

Expect Bowness and Jets to sort this out....
