As bad as he was overall, Georgiev was outstanding while the Avs were under siege for a while at the end of the 2nd. Georgiev was bad, but the Avs D was inviting a score line like this.

damn you referees!
How does Colorado score the other two without the ensuing powerplay that would've been cancelled out (that they scored on)?

Lol @ that guy thinking Lowry scoring on a two on one is indicative of Georgiev throwing the game for Avs. Avs play with that run and gun with any goalie and they are not going anywhere.

Was that the goal that went five hole with no stick on the ice? That specific shot is saved 98% of the time by any other goalie in the NHL. Go watch it again without bias, he's on a far angle, the other player is completely tied up, it's a soft five hole goal.

Last 10 games for Alexandar Georgiev:

4/14 vs Vegas: 4 goals on 30 shots
4/13 vs Jets: 4 goals on 15 shots
4/9 vs Wild: 2 goals on 22 shots
4/7 vs Dallas: 6 goals on 36 shots
4/5 vs Oilers: 6 goals on 46 shots
3/30 vs Preds; 4 goals on 13 shots
3/28 vs Rags: 2 goals on 25 shots
3/24 vs Pens: 4 goals on 34 shots
3/22 vs Jackets: 1 goal on 24 shots
3/16 vs Oil: 2 goals on 34 shots

Avs have to very very very heavily outshoot the Jets to compete because they're praying Georgiev gets them .900 goaltending. I take Jets in 5.
Today: 7 goals on 23 shots.

If Aununen is healthy you have to play him. Hell if he's not play some random ECHL'er.

I've always had to laugh at these people who think the entire rest of the game would have played the exact same way if something pretty significant was altered.

No, see, I was using something called sarcasm. We do not agree.

No, no. I think we’re on the same page. Hellebuyck will continue to let in 6 goals a game. I think the Jets should wave the towel and forfeit the series.

Agreed, the team who let in the least amount of goals in the whole league over the course of an 82 game season will continue to play like they did in the one playoff game.

I think the Jets should give up now, tbh. Mackinnon and Makar are clearly too much for them.

No. Avs were the vastly better team in this game. Every team gives up quality chances at some point in every game. The object of a goaltender is to stop them. They don’t need vezina goaltending but they do, however, need something better than midget aaa. This loss is on him and him alone.

It's funny then that the goaltender analyst from the Canadian broadcast talked about how hard it is to stop that shot whe placed correctly in that scenario.

The Avs are a much better team but Georgiev blows.. if they go with Annuunen they'll clap the Jets but I don't think they'll be that smart
Pretty much what I expected. Avs massively outplayed the Jets but goaltending let them down.

Winnipeg is really fortunate that Georgiev spotted them 7. Cause you shouldn't get outshot by double, give up 6, and still win

Surprised how trash the Jets looked and only won this because of a bigger trash out there. I would've thought Winnipeg would at least match the Avs in terms of carrying the play, but were clearly the inferior team.
