Avs fans know I hate giving their team respect, but saying the Jets D played bad is underselling the Avs offense. They've got some absolute horses and when they wanna go they go, not much anyone can do to stop them.

Georgiev put on the worst goaltending performance in the modern day era. At least from what I’ve seen. Hopefully he’s watching the Canucks game right now for inspiration for Game 2.

Tough game for the Avs. They couldn’t get their diving game going and thusly took the L.

Georgiev is going to have to be a lot better. Can’t see Helly getting pumped 6 again.

The Jets are a good team, nobody here said that they were not, but considering the regular season and all the Avs suck that I've read here...Avs were the better team.

You can say the same thing with the Jets defensive core, trying to match Avs speed tonight was like watching a Ferrari compete against a sloth, slug, snail, tortoise, manatee, and sea anemone. I would say that wind erosion was faster than you lot.
The goalie is a part of the team.

So i'd say the jets were the better team.

If Avs wants to win this someone will have to Keith Ballard swing Georgiev ! :sarcasm:

I was sure Jets would dominate our defense along the board but very surprised how our team looked. Highly doubt Hellebuyck allows another 4-6 goals against so our goalies need to bail us. Also we cannot see these Manson brainfart mistakes again !

I mean, if the Jets were the sloth “Flash”, that’s a different story. :sarcasm:

So you're happy with the team/goalie letting in 6 goals every game? Avs fans will take this effort 10/10 the next 6 games with anyone else in net.
Jets played the Avs game and got out of structure. I’m fairly confident Tuesday won’t be a repeat

I thought he was your best player tonight! :D
I love how Avs fans are finding some sort of comfort that they think their team is perfect aside from the goalie.

Just remember we shut you guys out last time in Colorado 7-0, last time I checked the goalie doesn’t score goals.

I’m just kidding, buddy. I also am the last one to think we are perfect aside from goaltending, not sure where you got that!

You deserved to win this game, you scored more goals than us. Congrats! See you on Tuesday.

What I and many others feared could happen to the Avs happened in the ugliest way. As talented as they are offensively, it will be difficult to repeat that 6 goal performance against the Jets D and Helle, so tonight was a must win. When your goaltending was so bad you couldn't even win with this performance, you are in trouble.

I'm not saying this series is over at all. Just that Colorado opened this series with everything we feared about their goaltending rearing it's head in the ugliest of ways.

Yup, George was on a short leash.

Just unfortunate Annunen wasn't available for this game because George would've been pulled a lot sooner. Game 2 is a lot bigger deal than game 1 imo. I'd bet Annunen gets the nod, and if he can provide a .905-.910 SV%, the series will go the distance and I like the Avs' chances. If the pressure gets to him, think the Jets will have a fairly easy series because George is absolutely cooked. We'll also see if Bowness can adjust well enough to the Avs' playstyle.
