WCQF Gm#2: KINGS vs. BLUES - 5/2/13 - Another Heartbreaker...

How come all the trans-fans come out of the woodwork when things don't look so well? What is the matter with you people?

It's one thing to assess whether one team is better than the other. Both these teams are very close in method of play, size, and abilities. I think we have the better goalie. So we are down 2-0. Big deal, it still takes 4 games to win a series. 3 out of the next 4 are at home, and the Kings have been solid at home this season.

I sure wish all the naysayers would just get the **** out, especially if we win this series. Don't want to hear or see from any of you from here on in.

I'm sorry but both GWGs were on Quick. He should've had both

Either way, we had more GWG opps that we didn't score and there were two many of those to count. I get tired of people blaming the goalie. Game 1 without Quick? It could easily have been 5-1. Game 2, similiar but we showed more control. We're just not penetrating their D enough and putting away the break aways we have or finish the shots we take.

Kings win the next two at home, where they had the best home record in the league, and it turns into a beat-of-3 series. They have to take the next two and win a ****ing road game.

We actually have to win at home in the first place.

I don't think the road game has much to do with losing. Blues are simply the hotter team right now. Too many of you guys underestimated the Blues simply because of our regular season success.

Seeing as the Kings have been horrible on the road.. losing like 8 in a row? That has something to do with it and Blues being a good team, also.

These have been very close games. Blues just have had luck on their side. It isn't a bad thing, just the way it is right now. If the Blues can win in LA then I will be impressed.

Seems like ditching Drewiskie for Ellerby turned out to be a ****** move up to this point.

Kopitar is the one that is ****ing killing me right now, he looks worse than Alexander Frolov on a bad day out there....

Offense starts from the Defense, Really good flawless breakouts.

Kings don't have that this year.

The Kings' breakouts were pretty damn good through 2 periods. Not surprised that when the pressure increased it got a lot tougher.

It's gonna be a tough road back. This is gut check time for this core leadership group to see if they can come back and make a series of it.

Quick blamed himself for the loss. Says he should have had Jackman"s shot

Of course he did, because that's what a tough SOB that has his teammates' back does.

I didn't say the Kings are getting swept. I said the Kings are losing this series. They play really ****** hockey on the road and that's been a constant trend this season. They haven't won a road game in a month.

They only have to win one.

I think the Kings are lacking some on-ice leadership right now, and that's why Matt Greene needs to be out there. Brown and Williams have played well, but otherwise it just isn't happening offensively.

Conspiracy Theory: Quick has mad money bet on the Blues in Vegas (maybe with Gretzky)

Dude plays awesome both Games 1 and 2 then gives a pass to Steen and lets in a softy to JackMan for the GWGs.

I don't feel like Sutter is coaching as well as he is capable of, the team looked down and lost after the Blues tied it. Staff has got to help the players keep focus and keep playing our game when St.Louis began to take over. You could feel the air coming out of the Kings balloon.

The Blues play doesn't surprise me. The Kings on the other hand do, in a negative way.

Just thinking about Keith's and Lucic's comments after they won the cup- you win the big prize and that's it, it doesn't get better than the stanley cup. That's why you have to shuffle the lines with new names and do it all over.

Seriously.. I don't want to see any of them posting if they have given up. (We know that won't be true) It's not over till it's over. What's wrong with that? Why give up early?

Props to kings for already pulling a lakers and playing like elite self entitled jerks. 50% effort and still almost win again, lol. At least I can take solace knowing the Blues will never win a Stanley Cup as they put forth the 120% effort (again) but have 0 real skill.

Kings got what it takes but if they don't use it then it doesn't even matter.

oh yea, and **** ellerby.

I disagree. I think LA played hard... it's just STL played harder.

No need to overdramatize here. Kings were dominant for most of the game. Blues 1st goal was a lucky one. LA heading home where the momentum can shift. One game at a time, one period at a time. But have to play hard all 3 periods, not 2 and a half...

We'll tie it at home and then it will be a 2 out of 3.

I'll feel more optimistic later, I'm sure, but right now it's just a killer...and I broke the arm on my chair. XD

So what, reading these play by play comments on here it's always pretty much nothing but drama queens. Makes me wanna puke. If Kopitar is covered too well, he's covered too well. If you can't see it yourself, wash out your ears so you'll hear the announcers tell you so.

I'm sorry to say this to both of you, but it is NOT a coincidence that the only people defending Kopitar in this thread right now are Slovenians.

Oh, I am not defending Kopitar. Some of you guys need to chill and take a deep breath. He has been bad, but there are still some hockey to play.

Regular season records and stats should play no part in the playoffs.

We lost fair and score. We are being outplayed by the Blues. We really need to pick it up.

When was the last time the Kings won a series in which they were down? Didn't they split both series vs Vancouver in 2010 and San Jose in 2011? I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure the last time we came back and won a series was 2001 vs Detroit lol.

St. Louis is a great team, they're basically us from last year minus the great goaltender. If Kopitar and Mike Richards keep being ghosts and Quick keeps giving up softies, there's no way we come back.
