Man, that hurt :( Had no business being in that game until the OT, then getting a PP that should have been a huge boost, we went to sleep instead...

Wish Kopitar would take off his Steen jersey

the first 59 minutes were painful to watch. Kings completely dominated in every category.

Then to lose the game the way they did just completely deflates the entire team and just pumps up the other team.

If the kings win that game, the blues would have been devastated. Instead the kings are in serious trouble without greene and mitchell and the blues have complete confidence now. Game ones are such huge games in a series. Last year the kings gained tremendous confidence with each game one victory. Now they trail a series for the third time in 4 years. The first two times ended in six game series defeats.

yep!

OH FoxSports West... who's brilliant idea was it to do a split screen?! Did they really have a difficult time deciding which game was more important? Beginning of the clippers games or sudden death in st. louis...hmmm.

It's a ****** thing to do to either fan base.

Either televise one or the other, but not both. They knew when they scheduled it there'd likely be a conflict at the end of the Kings' game, beginning of the Clippers' game.

Quick didn't even come close to blaming anyone but himself. Asked if he took solace in how he played before the GWG he just said "nope".

He sounds pissed. And if JQ is known for anything, it is bounce-back performances, especially when he's pissed at himself. He's the most mentally-tough player the Kings have.

He, and the Kings, will be fine in this series.

Tonight will make or break the series for us, it could wake the team up and we come out and dominate like we have the past year against St.Louis or we could fall apart and give the Blues all the confidence they need. I don't think Sutter and co. will let option 2 happen, we need Greene back even just to calm things down on the backend.

It was such a mess. Especially the random switching to full screen for both games for ten seconds at a time. It was like a bunch of monkeys were just pressing buttons or something. Whoever is in charge of scheduling should be fired considering there was a conflict before OT even started.

What happened to Sutter's 3-2 league?

Kopitar and carter do not look good together. They were both hesitating to see who was going to go after loose pucks and it cost the kings some possession time. Please move Richard and Kopitar back to their normal lines. Put Penner back on the second line. King on the third and Clifford on the fourth.

Might as well lose with the lineup that got the 5th seed instead of changing eveything up.

this mess could have been avoided if they didn't black out the national feed.

I just don't get blaming him for a loss. That's the life of a goaltender. You spend all game cleaning up everyone else's messes. Then you make one mistake yourself and it's all your fault? How does that make sense at all. The amount of mistakes Ellerby and Muzzin made in this game could've accounted for like five goals.

If this game had ended in 1-0, everyone would've been singing his praises and rightfully laying the blame at the feet of the rest of the team who did absolutely nothing in regulation. If Quick had given up a goal on any of the stupid mistakes the rest of the team made, no one would've blamed him. But he has one mistake that wasn't even entirely his fault thanks to everyone standing around, and the blame falls completely on him. That doesn't make sense to me.

I agree with everything you said. You just have to understand some peoples issue with this ;)

It's not the Same Blues team, as much as everyone doesn't want to admit it.

Their breakout's were awesome tonight...Cause they made that back end a lot better with Bow and Leopold.

It slots people in the correct spots. If the Blues get enough scoring this series, it's not going to matter how the Kings play.

The loss of Greene and Mitchell is really hurting.

Your offense starts from the defense, if the Kings can't cause turnovers or move the puck......They are screwed.

Lets get real, how much better can he play?

Do we even know what Greene's new injury is? It can't be that bad if he was skating before the game.

nope, kings have been tight lipped about injuries this year and it is annoying. where's dancingboy?

It doesn't matter how we played before. We played 59.5 bad minutes of hockey and still went to OT. Yes, there are a LOT of bad things and Quick was great up until that but the fact of the matter is we were in the game at that point and on a powerplay when that happened. I'm not just piling all the blame on Quick but we were in it until that. We'd have had 3 minutes more of PP time to win it but we didn't get the chance. Not all on Quick but that is 100000% UNACCEPTABLE.

I don't know how many folks around here have played sports at a competitive level, but if you have and can say you never pulled a boneheaded play...

You're Lying

When **** like this happens, You man up and get ready to play the next one.

Kings were up a man, Doughty should have gone with the forward and taken him out of the play. By going wide he left Quick with no good choice/

This needs to be the kick in the butt the Kings need after the way they've played for awhile. Also getting days off helps

The OT with King-Kopitar-Carter was by far the best I've seen King play this season. The third line was great too. To be honest, I just don't see Kopitar doing much this postseason. That means get Brown and Williams off his line to another center.

What's really frustrating about this one was that it seemed very clear to me during OT that we'd eventually win it. Quick ****ed up and that's that.

He switched Kopi and Carter's winger three times and they still weren't generating good scoring chances. Carter was almost a complete non factor tonight and they won't be winning anything unless they get their best goal scorer open looks. Richards was great at finding Carter all season with passes. Kopitar was good at setting up Williams and Brown despite the goal problem. They were producing. Carter and Kopitar have not done anything together. Maybe they would eventually but they don't have time to wait around for them to figure it out. I don't understand why you decide to change everything right before the playoffs.

even if there was nobody on the left quick should have passed there anyway kings bench is right there. its better than turning it over behind the net.

Oh Puhh-lease. Seriously?!

Doughty was giving Quick a place to pass the puck. Why skate to Quick and make a bad situation worse?

Just PASS it to him in the corner already (um, preferably BEFORE the opposing team gets behind the net and forechecks your ass!)

Quick always bounces back after one of his goaltending gaffes. Hopefully the rest of the team come to play in game 2. The better team won tonight.
